Marcus is in his first year. His first year. He cannot be paid more in his second (other than match fees) even if West Coast or Freo want to. This isn't about money, it's about family. The decision to request a trade away from a premiership team where he is best 22 would not have been taken lightly. Let's remember that although this bloody sucks for our football club, we knew his family stuff before we drafted him.
There's nothing requiring him to stay in Melbourne, if we don't receive adequate compensation for him, we can hang onto him and he can sit it out in Perth for a year.

I don't think I saw Adams at the GF or the event afterwards. Makes sense now. I guess the isolation of injury may have helped lead to this. I went to school with him and he was a top bloke.
