my memory seems to think that at last years draft WC looked disappointed at not getting Marcus maybe he was too because he wanted to stay home, he came to us and did his best, but not to be. Get what we can and use it to advantage, this is where the recruiters earn their dosh.

Hamling and Adams work very well in the Bulldogs defensive setup, but unless Freo change significantly they'll be half the players. Adams peeling off as an intercept defender is all Australian standard but his one on one defending is pretty ordinary.

Not particularly keen on Mitch Brown: injury prone, on the wane and can't get a game ahead of other big defenders at WC. Not sure he suits our game style either.

Agreed to an extent. Some people make bad judgment calls, and with having a close relationship with his brother would make it harder. Fair enough if it wasn't for his brother, but you need to understand that his brothers life and relationship is more important than AFL. If it was a 23 year old without the situation, fair call

Correct - gun. Pre injury his intercept marking was McGovern like. His 60m kicks are zone busting missiles. Plus he is strong and quick and only young.

Really disappointing he wants to go.

He has all the statistics but if you actually ask him about the game, you get nothing out of him. He was one of the first to suggest Billings was going high in the draft though, I remember that.

Perhaps St Kilda value his opinion OR they also place too much importance to stats.
I never understood the billings pick but many Saints fans rave about him.

My guess is that he may not be a critical need for West Coast as their defence is alright.

If you go to the PSD you put a price on your head, if the club on the bottom and let's say it is Brisbane. They could take the punt and pay the asking price and feel they might be able to turn him around to stay for his career up North.
I know he has said he wants to go home but $$$ speak many languages.

I'd much rather we dealt with West Coast. Feel like Fremantle have been divisive players in all of this and will happily give us unders.

We have a great trading relationship with WCE and they will pay the right value.

Because West Coast aren't too bad for key defenders. McGovern and Barrass are both/will be awesome, and they have depth with Mckenzie.
Freo have **** all.

I'm not ruling out McKenzie as a prospect. Former B+F winner, good age and has shown to be a very good footballer. Yes he struggled this year and didn't look great in the zone defence, but he was coming back from an ACL and had a lot of tough competition in the Eagles backline. Could still learn to play the zone better and be a valuable piece. McKenzie and Eagles 2nd or future 2nd rounder isn't horrible. Maybe late pick upgrade too
