Not true at all. Rarely do his turnovers come from the way he uses the ball. When he makes a poor decision due to inexperience. Given he runs at a high 79% effective disposal rate there is no evidence of being a poor user at all.
I’m not arguing whether he’s a good or bad user. I’m just saying you can’t be a good user if you aren’t making good decisions.

You seem to be using the term ‘user’ to describe technique or ability. I would use the term to describe the outcome of his disposals.

Of course, disposal efficiency alone is not the best measure of this given that different players are tasked with biting off riskier kicks to break lines.

I’d pick up Stephenson at Footscray and give him half a season to show what he’s got.

Low risk pick up in the mid season if we have a pick.

No disposal efficiency is one measure of a good user.

What about players that play on when there are no options, call for the ball in the wrong position or simply choose the wrong option. These are decisions. They are decisions that often result in opposition scoring opportunities.

Bailey Dale has significantly more of these turnovers than any of our players. He is also our best user of the ball in fact one of the best in the league.

JOD's turnovers are also due to these reasons, mostly due to a lack of experience and his disposal efficiency is evidence it does not happen all that often suggests he is a good user of the ball. Using the outcome only to determine whether a player is a good user is a little simplistic, but you are entitled to use that as your judgement so am not going to argue with that.

I am simply pointing out decision making has multiple facets many of which have no relationship to whether a player is a good user of the football. Some of that can be coached and is dependent on experience

Crazy part is if you rolled out Stephenson in round 1-12 next year he'd give more than our small forwards from this year bar west.
Wouldn't be opposed giving Stephenson a run on the SSP period early next year.

The Wilkie thread is a good read. Saints supporters going nuclear is always funny

Looks like another one of them had their account suspended after dropping their bundle in there. A bunch of them have already been thread banned. Never seen anything like it.

If he actually requests a trade the mods might have to preemptively thread ban every Saints supporter lol

Acting like their players are untouchable. They're forgetting that they had JSOS's dad offer his son $300k/year more than any other suitor to get him and then they keep throwing the "Dogs could have had him but wouldn't pay up" line at us. He has played less than 30 games in 4 years; guess they needed a high priced mediocre stable mate to keep Max King company in rehab.

I keep going back to it, but they had to put out a statement that SOS had nothing to do with his son's recruitment which just shows how sus they know it is.

$1.8m for DeKoning 😅. He's not going to the Saints because of anything but stupid money and it will cost them a similar but better player in Marshall.

Signing Leek Aleer for more money than Wilkie is just plain embarrassing. He's awful.

I do find it a little odd that Saints fans aren’t more sceptical of their list manager recruiting his own son on significantly more money than other teams were offering. I suppose time will tell with it but if we get to this time next year and he’s only played ten mediocre games for them, surely questions will be asked?

No, didn't you read their statement that SOS had nothing to do with his recruitment 😏

Without going into it I think you’ll find this was the thing that might’ve been the final straw for Wilkie. Was already a touch annoyed that Aleer was gonna be on similar coin to him, then they did that.
