Apologies for any inconvenience. We will try to find a replacement.
Given the form before injury and after injury, from a cost vs output point of view I was a big fan. He definitely passed the eyeball test too.He only played 7 games so whilst is a good average isn't enough data
Butt we have a gaping hole!Thats a disappointing post. Possibly one of the last chances to use Butts in a joke.
You could have gone with 'We don't like big Butts I cannot lie'
I wasn't including the club tied players only those we could actually get. Uwland, Patterson and Annable all likely top tem with Dean also a chance for top 10. There will be a fair few more bids in the second half of the first round.isnt it like 5 of the top 10 are like academy/father sons
it seems rare one of those other 5 is gonna be worth the what 4 slot improvement

I see us as having two clear needs. What's that saying about standing still?
We stand still.
While others clubs address their needs, we don't, hoping all will just work itself out next year.
Bit tiring to be honest.
Maybe you should quote the offending posts rather than imply that this board is full of posters who can't "understand the basic concept...". These generalisations are pretty poor to be honest. So posters who understand the basic concept that to improve the team you need to bring in players that actually do that, and for that to happen they have to firstly be available or if not available will to break a contract and have there Club willing to do that trade, of which there are zero fitting that category as A Grade KPD's are as rare as hens teeth. Therefore the next option is to develop what you have and adjust your game plan accordingly.
Those posters are happy to be stuck with being between 8 to 12 on the ladder.
Really!!!
I agree, but he is realistically a few years off paying that role at AFL level. From the games I’ve seen, Buss plays more like a #1 than an intercept defender. He hasn’t got the speed or agility needed for an interceptor. Seems to have a good brain and is safe with ball in hand which are useful for #1. Obviously needs to get stronger and better at 1:1’s but I would develop him as a last line anchor.
i reckon we need a better half forward aswell someone who is abit silky and can hit a target inside 50I see us as having two clear needs.
We've addressed one (small defender), and missed one (deep KPD).
Hopefully that is Dolan after a big pre season.i reckon we need a better half forward aswell someone who is abit silky and can hit a target inside 50
still looked a few years off it from what we saw this year ngl but dont worry Lathiam will save us until thenHopefully that is Dolan after a big pre season.
Not sure what the issue is?Maybe you should quote the offending posts rather than imply that this board is full of posters who can't "understand the basic concept...". These generalisations are pretty poor to be honest.
Tell us sensei.Last year we had Jones and Duryea coming off insanely good seasons (even if Jones slowed down a little towards the end of 24’).
We had Fridge who was showing real promise down there as well.
Jones allowed JOD to play second fiddle and Lobb to just roam as a quick rangy interception player.
Lobb is not the number one guy. I repeat. Lobb is not the number one guy. We tried that this year and he was found out big time, specially during games where our midfield fell asleep. JoD is also not the number one guy. People are also forgetting that we drafted Buss as an intercept defender as at the time that’s what we were crying out for.
So between our “best season defence” where we had Jones, Duryea and Fridge who are now all gone from the backline, we have incredibly quickly devolved into having a defence that’s only better than North and West Coast.
It was very very clear halfway through this season that we needed not only a game play change but a change in personal, hence the revolving deck chairs of defenders and zero settled lineup. We should have been working on Plan A through Z for bringing in people we needed, instead SoS used us to get a huge contract from Daddy, plan B was a contracted future-Captain and there is no C.
But continue to be happy with being stuck between 8-12 on the ladder.
I’m not.
This is why you are Lachy's heroTell us sensei.
And this is not the first time I asked this question.
What should we do and how we should go about it?
We've had a deadly serious offering in front of a contracted sub-elite KPD. In Wilkie
We've had a serious negotiations that many pundits hd us as favourites with a middling KPD. In Silvagni.
We've made enquires about an injury plagued but competent journeyman. In Butts.
We've looked at a washed sociopath in May.
If we're as desperate for anything just for the sake of anything. We may take a look at Aleer.
I dont doubt that there are any number of other KPD that we've enquired about during regular discussions between Power and the player managers that he deals with on a daily basis.
But somehow people who understand that the club just cant manifest an upgrade on what we currently have out of thin air. We are happy to be stuck between 8-12. We understand the frustration but it's asinine to imply that the club has been blithely sitting on its hands all year and not looking for solutions to an obvious issue.
Of course it's very possible Regan may have a cunning plan or two that he doesn't want to reveal. Why would he be so dumb as to show all his cards on Trade Radio?Might as well snooze this board till the draft
ngl when ever i saw Buss he kinda always looked abit Unco and awkward but will be happily proven wrongIf we are confident in Buss, he needs to go to the oppositions best forward in R1.
Lobb and JoD need to play as interceptors.
there has to be a plan for the potential pick 6 nglOf course it's very possible Regan may have a cunning plan or two that he doesn't want to reveal. Why would he be so dumb as to show all his cards on Trade Radio?
On that off-chance you are going to have to stay switched on until the end of the trade period, VD.
Sorry.
They are also trading their future 2nd in the Ainsworth trade, which makes it more challenging. Can really only happen now for a pick upgrade.Blues trade 41 for Chesser, Khamis up next.
