Depends on the big bloke - Croft by reputation is not just a 2km time trial beast but incredible at repeat 400m running, the style that made Dane Swan so hard to play on.I know Croft performed well in last years time trial but what is required in actual games is a completely different beast. Running all game from goal square to goal square like Dempsey or Langdon and getting involved in contest is just a little too much to ask for big blokes.
It'll be interesting what his time is this year. When you put on size, the running capacity can drop back a little.Depends on the big bloke - Croft by reputation is not just a 2km time trial beast but incredible at repeat 400m running, the style that made Dane Swan so hard to play on.
It's a new era. Some big blokes are just freaks.
Yep and given his rangy role and the trials on the wing last season I'd be surprised if he gains too much bulk. It'll be interesting what his time is this year. When you put on size, the running capacity can drop back a little.
Hynes hopefully cements a spot early.Yep and given his rangy role and the trials on the wing last season I'd be surprised if he gains too much bulk.
Sanders slimmed down last year and his running really benefitted. This year Cooper Hynes is at the front of the running packs which is amazing given he was at the back last year. The kid has put in a huge amount of work already. Really good sign.

I made a comment after watching him in the ruck at Footscray that some of the forward plays he was involved in from ruck reminded me of what Luke Jackson can do.Croft will no doubt be a forward/2nd ruck & then first ruck after English leaves. He has the tools to take on the new ruck rules.
I blame the KFC….Oh wait that was the boobs…carry onDepends on the big bloke - Croft by reputation is not just a 2km time trial beast but incredible at repeat 400m running, the style that made Dane Swan so hard to play on.

We don’t run at the Bulldogs….a bit like Jerry Seinfeld…I choose not to runYep and given his rangy role and the trials on the wing last season I'd be surprised if he gains too much bulk.

Like Coffield a benefit of a "weak draft" year.I was surprised to see Riley Garcia still on our list at the end of this last season, hoping he can find a good run of form next year and really push for a permanent spot in the seniors
Garcia was under contract..Like Coffield a benefit of a "weak draft" year.
Had we opened up two list spots we'd likely had looked around at the draftable talent and thought that Garcia and Coffield are as likely to have a productive AFL career as any of the undrafted leftover 18 year olds.
25cm taller yet still cleaner at ground level than McNeil
With all the recent defenders we've brought in you'd think Coffield, Khamis, and Cleary might be gone in 12 months. Or they'll need to have a big year.

Yeah I'd agree Cleary is the safest for now with his improvement last year. But a lot of pressure comingI don’t think he’s a long term player for us, but Cleary will be on the list until at least two of Jaques, Sellwood and Carmichael are established as better depth options. That might take be a couple of years, if it happens.
He improved a lot defensively just needs to not shite himself as much with ball in hand aka the game at Pork Barrell parkThink cleary is whacked a bit too hard in these parts.
Good solid C+ - B option that has shown steady improvement.
Libba will be 3 games behind his father if he plays every game (not counting any finals) and they are both very competitive so he may play on to get the family games recordCoffield, Khamis, McNeil all gone next year for sure. Cleary is borderline but if he keeps up his improvement then he's safe.
I'm almost certain that Libba calls it a day and wouldn't be shocked if Treloar does too.
I think there are a few others that could go next season but we might hold off on for 2027.
All things going to plan, Tom should go past Tony on GF day.Libba will be 3 games behind his father if he plays every game (not counting any finals) and they are both very competitive so he may play on to get the family games record

I couldn't stand him earlier in the year but to his credit he improved when he came back into the side at the end of the year.He improved a lot defensively just needs to not shite himself as much with ball in hand aka the game at Pork Barrell park
Speaking of which these are all of our OOC players in 2026, along with some predictions on their future. With all the recent defenders we've brought in you'd think Coffield, Khamis, and Cleary might be gone in 12 months. Or they'll need to have a big year.

He needs to model his game on Ryan Hargrave.
Plenty more flogs to deck in 2026How does decking Heath Black help us in 2026?
