Excellent news re: West and now Freijah. Means we are pretty much sorted bar Rylee Sanders.

Word is Sanders family is looking to relocate to SA, his brother is playing over there as well.

Not sure what that means long term but wouldn't surprise me if we don't see a Sanders signature until the end of the year (if at all).

Wonder if this was linked to our reported Mark Keane interest late in the trade period.

Potentially - although someone on here did say that we had interested in Keane before the trade period kicked off.

Overall, this upcoming trade period, I get the distinct feeling we're going to blow literally everything on getting over Butters and a ready made KPD, Keane, Butts or someone else.

We'll also need huge draft capital for a slew of F/S + Academy players.

Might mean we have to move out some decent pieces like a Sanders or Williams to make it happen.

You'd also suspect this is Libba and Treloars last years so that should free up a chunk of change to throw at some free agents as well.

Well if Sanders and family dont mind a move to SA, and we want to get butters out of SA, that story kind of writes itself, doesnt it?

1. Let Sanders go for a 1st and 2nd from Adelaide.

2. Sign Butts as a FA

3. Trade 3 firsts for Butters and a 2nd.

4. Go into 2027 with a team that should be a premiership threat and still have some draft capital going forward.

Why not cut out the middleman and Port get sanders?

The first and second from Adelaide wouldn’t be great - first would be mid 20s if last years draft is anything to go off

I said at the time in the off-season that I would be happy with us to be aggressive and move Sanders to Adelaide when they had the potential interest for what would have been a good haul as under contract and had decent value. Just hope now if he is set on Tassie or SA, that he maintains decent value this year and he doesn't struggle with injury or form, and we have to trade him for 50 cents on the dollar like we did with Bailey Smith.

Would make sense as a part of the Butters trade if he is interested in going to the Power. Love Ryley, but especially if we bring Zak in, I just don't see an obvious spot for him in our midfield... Lets hope Hynes also continues his current perceived trajectory and is a guy we can get CBAs into from this year or next also.

You would assume Sanders preference if wanting to go to SA would be the Crows, over a Butterless Power.

We arent in the business of tipping out a dearly purchased pick #6 for a pick in the high teens 3 years later, are we? Crows would have to do some work to make us a decent offer. Or I guess they could implode and head back down the ladder, who knows?

Not writing off port so easily. in 2024 they were 2nd and crows were near bottom. Port and Sanders both have a decent year, maybe ollie wines retires? Butters out, Sanders in makes sense from a Port perspective.

We get the “arse” end of that deal
