Interested in thoughts on this as a possible trade we could do.
Heres is the scenario:
We offer Schulz and Meyer as a package to the Crows. In return we get their first round pick(12-16) and Meeson (developing ruckman drafted 04).
If we were to secure that deal along with the picks we are likely to get in the draft we would walk into draft day with picks 1, traded pick from Crows 12-16, PP 17 & Second Round pick 18. 4 picks in the top 20 of this years draft where we could focus on areas we need to focus on.
That opens up our options for draft day as we have secured a young ruckman, Meeson with 3 years of development already put into him. We lose Schulz who has not really delivered on the promise he showed early and Meyer who again has not been able to deliver on the promise he showed. Both of these are replaceable as we have players like Hughes/Riewoldt who would be not that far behind in terms of covering Schulz and Meyer could easliy be covered by a kid like Edwards who IMO has shown a little bit more than Meyer has recently despite being a first year player.
As I said we then have options open to us on draft day. Pick 1 can be used on a tall like Kruezer or a mid like Cotchin or whoever else is considered the best kid in the draft. Pick 12-16 can be used on the best player avaiable at the time same with the Picks at 17 & 18 used to add depth to the big man stocks i.e. back up ruckman, Key position player & a hard at it inside mid to increase our depth there as well.
****BTW I am assuming these are the picks we are going to end up with and in no way am suggesting we get rid of these players just throwing up an idea. After all our senior players have little currency that if we are looking at trading the kids are where we have something to offer. ****

IF we could pull that off, I'd be rapt! But don't see the Crows falling for it....they're far too smart.
).....that's what drafting and recruiting are for!! There's my 2 cents.....now speculate all you like
