With the Cats season coming to an end on Sunday (thank god for that) it is time to start talking trades. I think we are going to have a decent sized list turnover this year and i think we will be very active at the trade table.

So i started this thread to gets peoples thoughts on what trades we might do. And also your ideas of possible trades.

James Kelly - Jared Brennan

Kent Kingsley - 2nd Round draft pick

Charlie Gardiner - anything

Henry Playfair - 2nd round pick

Kent Kingsley - Greg Tivendale

Very much doubt it. Can you trade a player one year after he was drafted?

Trade Kelly for someone even more inconsistent than himself? No thanks..Either a top 15 pick for Kelly or someone like Justin Sherman (which Brisbane won't be interested in)

The rest are ok, although I reckon we could come up with a better trade involving Kingsley (possibly involving Meeson)

Realistically:

Kelly's worth to us is around #20-30. If we can't get this or a player equivalent then he will remain on our list.

Kingsley has a very low trade value. He is uncontracted so is a credible threat to walk into the PSD. We will take the best offer we can get, which may be nothing. Hopefully though, a late pick.

Is Gardiner contracted? If yes, a very unlikely delisting. No one would want him in a trade either. If no, then delist.

I highly doubt anyone would be willing to part with anything better than a 3rd round pick for Playfair and even then, I consider this as highly unlikely. I believe his value to the club is more than this and so it is unlikely he'll be traded. Won't be delisted.

Considering Moloney went for pick 12 and Steinglien went for #12 & #28 I think around the 15 mark is more appropriate for Kelly.

I think we will get at least a second rounder for Playfair. I think Adealide would be willing to give up say pick 15 & 32 for Playfair and 24.

I would seriously doubt after he's been at Geelong for about 7 to 8 seasons, that he would suddenly want to go home.

But as for compensation, at least a top 10 pick, minimum. He's a top midfielder in his prime, not like Akermanis who only has a couple of years left.

I'd do that anyday. Cousins is an awesome mid-fielder with good pace what we lack. All our quality mid-fielders are one paced. And not to mention his a Brownlow medalist. Some thing we dont have as well.
