Jared Polec.
Aware us mate.

They making the play, or are we offering him up?

Polec & 8 for Tippett?

I really hope we don't do it - I think we're going to rebound up the ladder next year, and I think Sando can deliver when he says he'll make it an environment that players don't wont to leave.

Success will keep Tippett with us, and he's a massive, massive asset.

Get our midfield sorted and our forwards working together, and Kurt will become one of the most important players in the comp.

Johnston I still think will be a very very good player once he gets his chance. Signed a 2 year extension with Sydney a couple of months back so they are at least prepared to show faith in him. Would be a good get if you can nab him from the Swans.

Lynch not so much. Do not rate at all.

Agreed, I imagine our offer would be 24 + Armstrong <--> Johnston + 2nd rounder. If we got the Johnston trade done, our need for Lynch would be very marginal, only really for depth. We wouldn't offer much (probably Hawthorn's second rounder), so St. Kilda would be better off dealing else where.

If we keep Tippett, he plays 3rd tall allowing for faster development, similar to that of Gunston, or if we trade Tippett, play as CHF or high roaming CHF leaving the F50 to Walker, probably half and half. Noble did say something about getting SA players back IIRC, so Johnston would be the logical and obvious choice.

Speculation we are getting Lewis Johnstone back from the Swans

Thought it was pretty common knowledge you were chasing him as part of the Armstrong deal (at least that was part of the initial request).

However Swans rightfully said he wasn't on the table, is rated very highly internally and was recently re-signed for another 2 years.
So I'm pretty certain he wont be a part of any trade unless you're offering something too good to refuse.

I am surprised people don't rate Lynch...

Was pick 13 in the 2009 draft, hasn't had a heap of opportunity but I know that if I was a Saints fan I would be mega peeved if they only got 37 for him.

Lynch >>>> anything Richmond would offer.

Could be an absolute GUN IMO.

Armstrong has shown more at AFL level :)

A username change might be in the pipeline bud :p

Armstrong has a) been in the system longer and b) not had the strongest team to break into around him and c) not been injured anywhere near as much as LJ has.

The swans turned this deal down with good reason, move on. I'm still sticking to my Meredith/Armstrong straight swap.

Had a look at Johnston's highlights video in the champs. Super impressive hands, and lead up capabilities. Kicking is pretty good, fluid motion. Handball is a bit iffy, but that is easier to fix than kicking.
People at the swans say he is the best kick of the footy in the club.

If we get Johnston we will really need to learn to hit a target! With him and walker.

BTW he hasnt played a lot of games because of his attitude before this year along with injuries, whats he going to be like moving back to his home state? Not sure just asking the question.

Johnston is by far the best kick at the club at goal. His field kicking is also excellent. 2 years to go on his contract.

Unless you guys pay overs he won't be leaving.

Sorry... when you watch LoTR do the Riders of Rohan scream somethign different... ;)

In all honesty, been flat out all week making up for the crap situation my PM left the project in when he got shown the door....

So my first day I can sit and listen to TWR and participate in discussions during the day.

Bring it on!

Tippet to Brisbane for Polec and pick 8.
Maric to Tiges, Lynch to Crows.
Armstrong to Sydney, ?? to Adelaide.

Why wont you phags stfu about Tippet?
I dont want him to go either. But he has said he wants to return home and we may as well get some value for him while we can.

Happy to have lynch on board

Liked what I little I have seen of Tom Lynch. Think he might be the Crows replacement for Scott Stevens. Has been playing in the backlines in the VFL and forward in the AFL.

When does the season start?

No, he said that he has a desire to live back on the GC one day. There has been nothing to suggest he is disgruntled in Adelaide either, so I really wish people would STFU too.
