I must say it's quite obvious which team you support.

Overall it's a fairly stock standard draft, coupled with some truly awful trade suggestions which have zero chance of coming true. But at least you tried something different...

1. Pick 6 (Sydney) traded to Melbourne for B.McLean and B.Miller
Pick 9 (Hawthorn) and C.Brown Traded to Port Adelaide for S.Burgoyne
2. Pick 11 (Carlton) traded to Melbourne for J.Rivers
Pick 14 (Collingwood) traded to Port Adelaide for K.Cornes
*3. Pick 17 (Geelong) S.Brynes and R.Gamble traded to Essendon for A.Lovett
4. Pick 26 (Essendon) traded to Port Adelaide for J.Westhoff
Pick 31 (Western Bulldogs) traded to Sydeny for B.Hall
Pick 31 (Sydney) traded to West Coast Eagles for M.Seaby
S.Tuck (Richmond) traded to Port Adelaide for M.Farmer

I am not sure how outrageous you were trying to be but the bolded trades are very lopsided and/or unlikely.

1. Mclean and Miller are fairly diehard Melbourne player, contracted and i expect considered crucial in the assistance of developing the young Melbourne side. Sydney would also have to have gone completly insane to trade away pick 6 given it's ageing list, huge amount of retirements and expected decline.

2. This one just hurts me as a supporter. To have it proposed that my club could lose all sense of good value and trade this high a pick for JARED RIVERS! The guy is a key defender, which is not what we are looking for, and injury prone, not to mention the fact he has nowhere near proved his talents or consistency to earn this pick

3. Geelong also has apparantly thrown it's sanity out the window, 1st round draft pick and two quality players who will make their way into the side as the older Cats leave, for Mr. Inconsistency himself! sure Lovett has talent but this is just underselling Byrnes and Gamble

you have also overpriced Westhoff in my opinion, but that pales in comparison to the other trades you have suggested.

I am not sure if it occured to you but clubs value first round draft picks, it is unfathomable for any club to attempt to disable it's development like you have suggested

1. Melbourne want more first round draft picks, Miller is a handy player, never to be a star, But handy in the correct structure, McLean is young, a quality footballer and would comliment J.McVeigh, Merrideth and Vespremi. I think after Paul Roos' comments about the AFL can not let Sydney suffer with a seccond NSW side entering the comp they will go with Two capable AFL footbalers and Back themselves in to produce the goods, and take another youngun in the seccond round. Also why else would they be chasing Seaby, With jolly and White as Ruckmen, Unless White is gonna play Key Forward? Then again short term gain!

2. Jarred Rivers best football consistantly would make him the leauges best CHB, Carlton have ?Jamieson? at Fullback, But lack a CHB, I think your mob are one good Defender away from being top four, so have the chance to be contenders in 2 years or build for the future and wait another 5-7 to maybe make it? Judd's influence will start to dwindle, Fevola will be aging, better off trying to get a strong squad together before 2010-2011

3. Bartel, Ablett, Selwood are young, Corey and Ling are mature but still both under 30, Enright and Kelly same boat, Harley is on his way out Ottens probably not to far behind, Brynes and Gamble are not defenders, I dont think Brynes is an onballer, Lonergan/Gamble it could fall either way however Lonergan looks a KPP where as Gamble seems to be a third option/tall Forward. Byrnes/Stokes again could fall either way, But you can not keep Brynes, Varcoe, Stokes, Djekura, Wojinski. You need to give up something to stay up the top.

Westhoff has now played 50 games or so, plays more than he misses, Is a goal kicking forward, It wasn't actually my Idea with this trade, an Essendon poster cam and offered it up, I just jumped on board cause it would be a massive plus to Port!

LOL

There is no way we will trade our first round pick, and certainly not for two average Melbourne players.

Miller is average, McLean went pick 5 & had no pre-season this year. He'll be very, very good next year provided he stays injury free. But as you said you won't be trading away pick 6.
And Jared Rivers for pick 11 would be awesome but again Ranga you have shown you know very little when evaluating Carlton's defence.
Jared Waite, Bret Thornton, Paul Bower.

And also no to a first rounder for Kane Cornes

As if we would trade Shane Tuck for Mitch Farmer, He has played 3 games in 2-3 years. As for Tuck has been a leading Clearence getter and Contested disposals over the last couple of years for the Tigers.

Why have you ignored the Gibson trade to Hawthorn. It will go through, no chance Gibbo and North will come to terms.

And with the likely pick 25 to us, and going off the players available in your phantom draft, I would expect us to take Alex Carey with 25 and maybe Lewis Jetta with 21 if available.

two predictions have come trough, McLean out of Melbourne and Carlton loosing pick 11... So, On the board.

Forgot Gibson, Apart from Pick 25 what else is Gibson worth, I know he is a better player than Westhoff, So, 25 and ?McGlynn?

Gibson for 25 is almost a certainty now with Carlton in no place to make a play for Gibson.

A player from Hawthorn to sweeten, if necessary at all, is irrelevant to your thread.

Saying that, I am pretty sure we will take Carey with 25. We have made preliminary talks with him from what I hear so I doubt he would slide past our third pick.

1. Quite willing to admit my miscalculation over Mclean, but he is a considerably higher quality player than Rivers, and my belief over the roos unwillingness to let go of a high draft pick stands
2. As stated Rivers is not the player we are looking for, Waite/Austin or O'halpin will most likely play CHB next for the Blues, if Carlton made a play at Rivers most certainly for a third round pick, maybe a second rounder
3. Geelong does have an ageing list, next year the following players will be over 28: Paul Chapman, Joel Corey, Corey Enright, Tom Harley, Josh Hunt, David Johnson, Cameron Ling, Darren Milburn, Cameron Mooney, Brad Ottens, Max Rooke, Matthew Scarlett, David Wojcinski. That is the majority of their 07 premiership side, they are hitting the twilight of their careers, trading away young players in Gamble and Byrnes would not help the Cats at all

I still don't rate Westhoff that highly, he has had too much inconsistency

I'd rather Simon Hogan and pick 17 for Lovett. Can't stand Byrnes or Gamble

Pick 26 (Essendon) traded to Port Adelaide for J.Westhoff

Haha..

Before you consider the trades you should look at the type of player needed at each club. Essendon have plently of potential KPF - Neagle, Gumbleton, Hurley, Still and Daniher... KPF and KPD are the least of our worries.

We need to add quality into the midfield and maybe a crumbing forward.

Westhoff is not a KPF he is a Goal Kicking forward, Anyone trying to Build a side around Westhoff is Crazy, see mark Williams for example!

Rumour (and that's all it is) has it that 25 and Travis Tuck seems to be the go.

I am sure Melbourne would be delighted with Scully, Trengove, Butcher and Talia. Won't happen though, just like most of the trade ideas you suggested.

I highly doubt we'd give up pick 14 for Kane Cornes. We do need a tagger but we have bigger deficiencies on our list than that and we will need that pick to fix them. I reckon we will go KPP or try to use it for a big deal.

McLean to Carlton for pick 11. Just about a done deal. On melbourne's site.

You're deluded if you think Carlton's trade with Melbourne supports you in this.

Sydney will not trade its 1st Rounder. Understand that.

When you mentioned White as a ruckman it confirmed for me that you had no clue.
