I know whats going to get posted back to this question, so ill start by saying a Bag of Crisps, a pair of worn footy socks or Richard Cranium's 1943 lace up gurnsey is not sufficient.

Some people are talking about Shaun Burgoyne wanting out of Port Adelaide and Danyle Pearce's trade value, Would Melbourne give up pick 2, their seccond round pick and a swap of our third round selections for the two lads? What are you opinions on there value at the trade table?

Cheers for being genuine!

Personally not interested in either of them, & I don't see them as worth our #2 pick, but I suppose Pearce could go for our #17 if we really wanted them.

17 and swap of third rounders might be a generous or worthy trade for Pearce (but I woulnd't want him) and Burgoyne just isn't worth close to Pick 2. Very very good player but not worth pick 2. To trade away pick 2 we need to get someone who we can build a team around.

If the ladder stays as it is...

Would a trade of pick #2 be acceptable for something like Salopek (who is mooted for Trade) and Pick 10? You'd get a class midfielder and a downgrade and Port could pick up Trengrove?

I dont think even Fremantle would be that stupid.

its pretty simple really. salopek is an average midfielder who can't even get into ports side. why would we even want him, when we have a million good/average midfielders (mclean, moloney, mcdonald, jones, valenti, sylvia, grimes, davey, blease, strauss, with scully to come). the last thing we need is more midfield depth, let alone giving away pick 2 for it.

Thankyou.

Pearce is the biggest front runner in the AFL and as good as S Burgoyne is, it appears injuries maybe starting to set in for him....no thanks to both or Salopek

We have to many inside mids, I would trade Nathan Jones and pick 18 for Sydneys first pick.

I'm not trading Nathan Jones to just go up 10 slots in the draft there.

Wow imagine if we traded pick 2 for Troy Selwood :thumbsd:

He'd join an illustrious club of lesser brothers..

Arise Jay Viney, Damian Gaspar, Luke Ottens, 2 x Cockatoo-Collins etc..

But not Jakovich. 250 games difference, a Hall of Fame and two premierships difference between the two but I reckon we still broke even just for the memories.

I'm usually so careful with the Selwoods... I guess having the g/f on the seat next to me had me nervous for posting on a footy webboard and thinking she might love me less for it. Actually, knowing she does.

No thanks! These two characterise Port Adealide FC to a tee, when they are on fire they are on, but when they are off they are terrible.

Why would melbourne give up pick two two pick up two blokes in their 20's for a young kid, youth is what will see us climb up the ladder.

I don;t see what everyone's desire around here to trade so much, keep going with youth. I would only look at trading Bell, Miller, Buckley, as their futures are questionable at Melbourne, but they offer sweet F all at trade week. And we should only trade for picks not recycling players.
