Surely with the second youngest list (i believe) we only need to use our pick 9 on a 18 year old in the draft. It's interesting how many players develop when they are 22 - 24, but some get delisted before then.

I want the club to draft young talent, but we are so close, yet so far.

Surely our 2nd round pick would be tempting to give to another club for a player who has been given limited opportunity but has potential.

Our team is young, and with pick 3 probably going for Blackwell, surely the rest could get us a good quality player in the above age bracket.

Eg

Geeong may be tempted to unload a reasonable mid fielder for our second pick simply because of the nature of their list. Surely this would be tempting.

St Kilda may give up Montagna etc for salary cap restraints.

I am not saying do not trade into the top 15 and use this pick, but after pick 25 is the crop that good.

Very good point you brought up then barnesy. i have to agree with at the fact that we have to use our first pick o =n a young kid, eg DeLuCA or Tambling. From us losing our picks massively 2 years ago the club would want to make up for this.

However I think after pick 25 there isnt much talent remaining and therfore we could snare a midfielder or foward from another club eg Montagna.

I'm not so sure. To say pick 25 isn't going to score a quality young player is a bit close minded in a sense. Pagan has said he's super keen to get back into the draft. I'd say there's a fair bit of homework done there and Pagan would know what he (and in turn the club) needs. I'd say we'd hold onto our first two picks, unless we score better picks through trades.

Pick 25 and no talent remaining. You have to be joking. Fisher and Karl Norman were taken in the seventies. Explain that one! To give up pick 25 for Montagna would be a huge mistake and one they will not make. Montagna is not worth that anyway.
