Pretty sure he is contracted and can go onto the veteran's list.

Be very surprised if Ossie doesn't play next season ... One of the main reasons we did not win the 2012 flag was some mean on the forward line and back line .... ie Ossie & Goo (great name for a kids program)

We need some solid bods for a bit of depth. And that comes cheap. Rodan would have more upside with onfield retn than what Bruce offered, though not leadership/ mentoring off etc.

Glad to hear people mentioning Poppy and some others were spent by finals time. If they had of been roatated out and covered by our depth (ala. Bruce and Changa etc) we would have finished much more strongly. We gotta have some sort of reliable depth, these rookies and kids like Hill are years away from provinding that.

Same reason I would be doing everything to try and hang onto Gilly now. Has the body, knows our game and provides depth. It's where we lost it this year.

Osborne was out of contract this season and while the club hasn't stated he's signed a new contract, it has publicly stated it looks forward to Osborne making a contribution in 2013, so it seems like he will be at the club next year.

On top of that, the club is not going to end his career with a knee reco either.

OMG, is there any danger of anything happening, anything at all, my head is pounding.o_O :p
Hickey for pick 13, FFS did really that happen?

Is Woodward ready for the NAB cup?

Yep. Read somewhere that he and Ossie were up and about and doing lots of running, etc towards the end of our season.

From memory (from the article I read somewhere - apologies as can't rmember where), they could have conditioned Woody to play the last game or two at BH if they wanted to, however, they decided not to risk it.

Expect he will be ear-marked to come in and play a fair bit next year and not just as a sub, to give guys like Hodge, Mitch, Burgers and Sewell some rest and recovery time throughout the season.

I would be very surprised if Woodward and Hill didn't get 5 - 10 games in the starting 21 under their belts in 2013.

That's great! I'm very excited about the kid plus Schneider and Hallahan.
Should all be beaut for the club

If he's available at 65-66 we should take him really. We would probably get more out of him then we would out of youngster, unless we have someone hidden. That being said he'll probably get snapped up before we have the chance.

Presumably Port shopped him around before de-listing him. The fact that all 17 other clubs baulked at the chance to add him is a worry.

Hawthorn started this trade month with a huge surprise that shook the footy community, and we will end this trade period with a huge surprise that know-one sore coming.IMO

Not many multi-club deals have happend this trade month, so can we see one getting off the ground in Hawthorn's favour???????
Thinking that maybe Gilham and a couple of our third round picks will play a big part in this!!

This is very good news. I thought Woodward really showed some ability, and certainly some energy, in his brief time on the field before the knee. It was such a shame for the lad.

I hope you are right. However I am having enormous difficulty envisaging what we can conjure up with Gilham and a couple of third rounders that will enable us to end this trade period with a huge surprise.

More likely to be a small surprise I suspect.

Puopolo to go back too the back pocket next year, where he was outstanding in 2011 playing on the small forwards and doing a number on them and winning plenty of footy himself and providing plenty of dash from defense. :thumbsu:

I'm liking that suggestion. With Muprh gone he'll play a good shut down role and Ozzy/other can play the goalsneak role up forward.

Puopolo in the back pocket, Guerra in the other. Plus like you said Osborne can play Poppy's role in the forward pocket position better then Puopolo. The addition of Lake realeses Gibson to play an even more attacking role, Savage on the wing (replaceing Young) Gunston and Breust another pre-season under their belt, Hill will get more game time, Woodward returns from injury, Roughead gets to do a full pre-season. There is a lot to look forward to next year spudmaster. :thumbsu::)

Who does he replace in our backline though? I wouldn't have him in there over any of the current guys

MIND GAMES!!!!

It wasn't indented to stir peoples emotions, and i don't like playing MIND GAMES!!!

Just putting it out there that's all

My thinking is based on a hunch!!

Lets see what happens we've got till Friday 2pm

Since then only, Time will Tell!!!!

Was loosing both Young and Murphy for pick 66 a small surprise????
Just shows one thing, that in the footy community anything can happen!!
