Had the day off work today so decided to walk down to The Junction Oval and have a look at the boys train.

Things to note..

Jeff White and Jarred Rivers look certain to return.
Robo and Wheelan were both clearly limping, both walked a few laps and that was it.
Newton was running round and joining in most drills.
Grimes cant be to far off as he pretty much did everything.
Sylvia looked fine may push for selection.
Green ran laps with Mclean for most of it but didn't seem to have any injuries.

A few of the drills got fairly competitive, a bit of pushing and shoving and plenty of sledging. Good to see.

Good news about Rivers, and good to see Juice get up this week if Robbo's out

dont even mention that name. we need that lazy bastard back like we need another hundred point flogging. Dutchy was great giving us a CONTEST on the weekend something newton is yet to understand.

Hell if thats not working, forget pagan's paddock we can have aussie's oval, is there anything the great little man cannot do?!?! Now there's someone for all of us to idolise who has more tricks than a 2 second hanger.

Nobody said anything about dropping Holland you flog, someone has to come in if Robertson cannot play and Newton is pretty much our only choice.

Shouldn't you be wanting to drop Holland seeing as how he's making a contest, that could result in us winning and you don't want that do you?

He seems to change his tune from day to day.

Good to see most are fit and firing, getting Rivers and White back this weekend will be a real bonus.

When the fk have i ever said i want us to lose? Find it.

Just because i think we will lose a certain week doesnt mean i want us too. Ive never mentioned anything about tanking in here.

With our current situation with a lack of forward options, you would think now is the time that Dunn could be handy. If the coach doesn't seem to think he would handy at a time like this then it doesn't really look too good for him this year at least.

I'm pretty biased but if Robbo is out would it be worth seeing if Yze has anything left to offer he has been killing it for sandy and is a great kick. I think after all he's given the club it would be nice to see him given a chance to keep his spot I know he has to go soon but he is dominating for Sandy. No one can deny that.

Thanks for that mate, good to hear that Rivers and Whitey are both back. :thumbsu:

Why would we want Whitey back? Jamar is clearly our best tap ruckmen, dominating Sandilands and doing quite well vs Taylor / Campbell. We all know Jeff's Whites best stats are ineffective hitouts.

In days gone by yes being a good tap in the ruck was the skill that was required of a ruckman but nowadays ruckman need to be as much a midfielder as they are a ruckman.

With he lack of forward options, depending on robbo, how about Sylvia up forward? His proven in the past that he his capable.

green should be at full forward. said that since 2000

Do you and Everyone else who has suggested this, seems to be every week, realise that Green is only 184cm? Robbo is taller then him FFS. Yes he plays tall when he goes forward, but the reason danniher kept him in the midfield for the last 7 years was because he's not big enough to play KP.

Green has been one of the most reliable shots on goal for his whole career, and he is strong overhead and has a solid build for his size, but he just simply wouldn't be able to compete against a KP defender. He's a good 3-4 inches too small, maybe if he was 2 inches taller you could get away with it because he is quick and plays taller then he is, but put a Scarlett or even a Sam Fisher/Max Hudghton and his speed does not make up for the height and weight he'd give away.

We need to keep Holland at FF for a while longer, and maybe stretch their defence by name a Dunn/Newton/Pettard, who is fit and has the form, so Dunn ATM. This means that Dutchy gets the FB and Dunn gets a chance to play more then 5 minutes in one position and prove himself as a forward against the 3rd tall defender.

But i doubt Dunn will play because i still think Bailey has a vendetta against him
