Training 5/6

[Vegas.]

Just home from training (bugger uni), boys looked pretty sharp during the very light skills session which went for about an hour or so.

By my rough count there was 25 out there, which you would suggest is the 25 to be named tonight including emergencies.

No Harry Taylor... Which means either we are playing Moons, Domsy and Hawko, or that he was just given the day off to have a bit of a rest. I'm leaning towards the latter.

Chappy trained at 100%, picked up balls off the ground with ease. He is in.

Hunt trained at 100%, will be in contention.

Mooney trained at 100%, should be in.

Prismall, Travis (clean shaven - head and mo), Byrnes (turnovers at training, didn't hang around to practice goal kicking) were all there, with Vegas coming out to train with the seconds after the seniors.

Harley looked a little shabby, and on two occasions after missing a target by foot yelled an extremely loud '____ YOU!', which I found quite humorous.

Otto looked good, Selwood is a freak, Kellys kicking has improved so much it's not even funny.

Notable mention to Mackie for being the ONLY player out there wearing a long sleeve blue number, rather than the silver singlets which every single other player was wearing. Top stuff Mack.

Oh and SJ spent half the time getting a rub down.

He did all the work, however none was competitive (bar Otto Blake ruck drill). He looked good above his head, taking lead up grabs and stuff, but no direct contact.

As I said, he 'should' play, unlike Chapman who definitely looks ready to go - he was bouncing around in the goal square kicking snaps and jumping on other guys while they were stretching.

Hard to say about Mooneys shoulder, as it didn't get a real workout.

He looked absolutely knackered in the last qtr on saturday night.Maybe he'll be rested and Lonergan [with help from Milburn and Harley] will play CHB if Mooney plays.

Possible, but they ran a full ground drill - from kick out to goal - and Hawkins and Domsy played deep forward, with Moons about 60 out CHF role, Harley and Dash at CHB. Perhaps just to get the balance of the drill right, but you would have thought Domsy would have stood at CHB just to get the flow going if he was playing there tomorrow night.

Swap for Boak

Varcoe has not shown pur class yet, First game showed X-Factor, but as for class nothing as yet, HE HAS IT DONT YOU WORRY, but Nathan Krakour/Travis Varcoe we have a young X-Factor to go with Shaun Burgoyne (who is not overly old). As for class, We don't have a classy onballer, work horses in Cassisi and KCornes, But for class Boak is our only shining light!

Varcoe sledged me in junior footy and since that day I though "This kid is meant for bigger things!" I would just love bigger things to happen in Teal! But at least he is with you mob, Not Collingwood, Feemantle or The Crows!
