you can assume anyone not mentioned just did as expected

angus monfries - was taken aside by ramanauskas for a skills session for about 10 minutes separate from the group. obviously a result of some turnovers on sunday which is good to see knights addressing. rama was demonstrating and explaining the importance of guiding the ball and the angle of flexing leg etc.

prismall - moving very well and completed most of the drills with the main group. his movement looks very good, his kicking his fine and from watching him run around it looks like he could play next week. however being conservative they will continue to take it slow with him.

mcveigh - as mentioned in good news looks certain to be named and play this week barring any setback.

hurley - was jogging slow laps.

welsh - didn't do much.

lonergan - was doing all the running but was separate from skills drills. was doing kick to kick with an assistant taking one-handed marks. still has his hand bandaged so looks at least another 2 weeks away i'd say.

matthew lloyd - similar to monfries lloyd spent 10-15 minutes away from the main group working with gary o'donnell. he was working on his marking - on sunday he put down a number of marks so once again knights had him working on his touch for marks. very happy to see.

hille - i panicked for a moment when i saw him lying down during some drills but all was okay he was doing some stretches. appeared to be stretching out his ITBs (ilio tibial bands) - hopefully no major issue there but he looked to be moving pretty well.

myers/winderlich - both moving very well so look to have no issue with their groins which were cramping up in the last quarter

laycock - saw him coming back from the pool so was obviously swimming laps for fitness. with his completely bald head he is definitely the ugliest bloke at the club. a combination between lurch and uncle fester...not good!

mcphee - was late on the ground missing a big portion of the session. obviously busy preparing the case. did some extra work after the others left to make up for it.

reimers - moving well but would still be at least 2 weeks away.

atkinson - runner up in the ugly stakes with his short orange hair...

on the whole the session was quite pleasing to watch, spirits appeared very high and the skills were much sharper than i saw a fortnight ago. i walked away confident the club is in good shape.

for those wanting to have a look at training there's a session at 10am on good friday.

I have it from a very reliable source that Prismall will be available a few weeks earlier than expected.

i wish i could believe that...

so i will. all reports have been that he's doing well with his recovery so it wouldn't be a major shock (at least to me who has no knowledge of injuries)

He's definitely running along well, slightly ahead of schedule. Though I do think the club will still take a conservative approach with him; Which I applaud after our injury history over the last few years.

BTW, great job efcboy. Your training reports every once and a while are enjoyable to read. :thumbsu:

:D:thumbsu: Well played.:D

Cheers efcboy (and Olly, I guess).

I'm glad you find Laycock's swimming PB's as fascinating as I.

As for Essendon training.

It was just a normal skills session.

McViegh and Reimers looked good, both participating in the main (playing) group.

I also managed to take a picture of Atkinson to show you his orange hair:

At training, for the majority, there were three groups. One would have been the match group (fully fit) players, the players on the brink of selection (Atkinson, Nash etc.) and another group doing skills (pulled up a bit stiff?).

Overall an uneventful training, which I would say is good.

Spirits are high down at Windy Hill.

how did hocking look today boys?
Whats with him finding so much of the pill this year?

Do you expect it to continue?

Any feedback would be appreciated... :thumbsu:

Top stuff, efcboy, much appreciated!!

Obviously, given I'm Pissant based, I don't get to many (any) trainings, so this stuff is gold!!

Well done.

Certainly agree with the Skills. It was a lot better than the tuesday session a couple of weeks ago.
Hope you did not go looking in the dugout for me. I left my usual spot to have a chat with slugger for a bit :D

So do we think McVeigh will play?

he appeared to have no limitations in his movement - unless he pulled up sore i can't see why he wouldn't play. i was at training a fortnight ago and h.slattery wasn't moving anywhere near as well as mcveigh did and he played the port game. mcveigh has been out longer so it is a different scenario but he looked good to go.

i noticed he wasn't named in the footy show squads but i suspect those are garbage given the clubs never name a side until the thursday afternoon before a saturday game.

for those wanting mcveigh to play on judd i disagree - given he hasn't played for over a month he will lack the fitness to go with him. i'd have mcveigh playing in the forward line with bursts in the midfield. he could be handy for a few goals which we might need given mcphees absence.
