there he is, folks - look and wonder with awe and stuff

Seems to have the focus and desire to go with the talent. That's the combination that makes players elite. Could easily be the best player from 2016 draft. Convinced we are looking at someone very special

Wouldn't mind seeing it. What do we have to lose? We are rebuilding and looking to the future. At least we would be a true look at what he can or can't do

He should be hitting prime time now too.

With Dre gone he has a chance to play a role.

Thanks for the great report. Its interesting comparing last years early reports to this years. The forgotten man Sam Kerridge was on every-bodies lips last year- "training the house down" Super fit", yada yada yada. This year nothing. Whilst he has some obvious limitations , people also forget his strengths. He may never suit an inside mid role where clean hands are essential , but he does bring to the table some strength, endurance and competitiveness
My personal belief is that once we have a midfield which has increased depth and ability with cleaner hands as an example, could he be used in the forward line to snare a few goals, similar to Wright? We all know he booted 6 in a game vs Kangas, obviously he has a goal sense about him, worth a shot?

Thoughts.

Just my opinion...but no.

Kerridge is extremely limited as an AFL footballer. The guy is obviously an elite trainer and preparer...but he can't footy very well in the heat of an AFL game.

We are in big trouble if he is still getting a game this year. I don't think he will.

Charlie Curnow the clear standout for most, very exciting.

For those who were at training, based on what you saw what will Charlie's best position be in 2017?

Forward with stints in midfield?

To my mind, CC is the quintessential high key forward of the modern era and era going forward.

He will be named as CHF and he will roam a lot. A big A Grade athlete and A Grade footballer is the stuff of dreams.

I think he is a tad too heavy to play midfield for more than just a pinch hit. Too taxing on the body. Only the freakish Adam Goodes could really carry that bulk thru the midfield.

He is going to be a very interesting watch though isn't he.

I don't know if Charlie is being trained through the middle, but somehow it doesn't feel that way to me.

I can see Charlie as a KPF and not a Gunston-type or third tall. We already have Silvgani there, for that.

EDIT: What TW said a moment before me. Charlie plays taller than his ~193 and will run most back-men into the ground.

there is no answer to such an earth-bound question - charlie has already entered the realm...........

Exactly. Ball use in the middle really worries me. It's a big issue in modern football. Clarko simply wouldn't play him as ball use is his pre requisite. Does know here the goals are, big strong body and works hard. It's his best chance but not convinced long term

Jesse Glass-McCasker looks like a wonderful specimen, now.

Watched him through a number of sprints but there was one in particular that he had a great pace going, only to put the jets on and he was gone.
Extremely quick 198cm man. Hope we can make good use out of that speed in time.

IIRC that was the big tick for him at draft time.

Size AND speed - hard to find both in the same body.

Charlie can damn well play wherever he wants
biggest build-up since juddy hit the pp turf against the dogs in front of 15k salivating idiots?

Saw him in a VFL game smother a ball off the boot, he had no right to get to.
There weren't many moments last year that had you in awe.........but that was one of them :)

We're not going to put up with too many project players, but this is one I think we can and will give time to.

What about a hird like chf/flanker?

Could be, as he does cover the ground very well.
Even through warm-ups, Charlie looked to have something.
His twisting and changing of direction belies his size.

Good...

On a side note. I know hird is a controversial comparison but he was a very very good footballer.... not that he will be remembered just for that anymore.

I think Chas Curnow will be a little Kouta like.

You never want to get too far ahead of yourself, but Charlie sure has a lot about him to like.

He comes across as a cheeky, yet lovable character.
He was fantastic with all the kids and families yesterday. Full of energy....all of the time. :)

Yeah, i agree.

If you're gonna carry a project player or 2 on your list, make it a KPB and/or a Ruck. They can come on. Sometimes quickly when it finally all clicks.

JGM, if they see glimmers there, should be persevered with. Just to note, i'm only saying this on theory, as i've yet to see JGM play since the U18 Champs.
