Training Surface = Injuries?

Lets be honest, these blokes play on bowling greens. Every now and again someone will roll an ankle, or bust a shoulder, or do a knee. These things happen in football and most of the time it comes down to shit luck. A few less soft tissue injuries would be great, but a lot of the other injuries are just part of playing a pretty taxing game.

Its reasonable to look at the training surface, in a thorough investigation of our attrocius injury run. But the run started in 2012, when we were still training at Gosch's Paddock, and we only moved to our current surface in mid-2013 (?). So it doesnt correlate. I know that Gosch's Paddock has been just that - a paddock - since European settlement in Melbourne. Cows used to graze there (belonging to Mr Gosch in fact). Therefore a natural surface for all its history. Whereas Olympic Park has been more highly developed since the late 19th century, with different buildings, land uses, etc. Just sayin'.

We should water the ground more often in summer to prepare for winter months of footy, although its raining more this summer.
