News Training Thurs 28th May

Finally made it to a 2009 session today. It was a light session - mostly run and carry drills. Fev was positioned at half-back running forward during these so take what you will from that. He's obviously trying and not shirking, but he's much quieter than normal and I'd say is battling some personal issue. Given the article and uncaptioned photo in the paper during the week, it's not hard to figure out what.

Houlihan, Johnson, Setanta were all training with the main group. No surprises, but I was worried to see The Fro limping at one point. Didn't seem to stop him running at full stretch soon after.

Walker, Pfeiffer, Warnock, Jacobs, Wiggins and Edwards were doing handball drills (and having a lot of fun!). Harvey had them in high spirits doing what would otherwise be the utterly mundane. If you messed up, you had to get on all fours and the others would take shots at your clacker with stab passes. Put Fev in that group I say.

Walker and Pfeiffer did kick-to-kick for a fair while. Neither is putting their arm above their head at this stage, but they look fit. The group broke up for laps or indoor work and I decided to take advantage of a break in the rain.

Fisher was definitely with the main group the whole time. I didn't see Johnson slip out after the others - I just presumed he was there the whole time. Sorry 'bout that.

Thanks for the update AD. Pleasing to read that Walker and Pfieffer are looking fit. They must be sick and tired of being in the rehab group, and must be itching to get out there.
