I'm thinking of coming down from Ballarat early tomorrow morning to watch us train at 9am and then make a bit of a day out of it down in Melbourne with the girlfriend.

I've told her we are going to the Zoo and we have to be there around 8.30ish, I won't tell her we are watching Carlton train as she won't come LOL.

Anyways, I'm assuming one little gate will be open for the small amount of public to watch. Which one is that?

I'm just dieing to see Judd run laps and Kreuzer have a kick.

well done stokesy, the gate nearest to the Pratt stand is always open as its the gate for the players to enter from. There is also an entrance through the merchandise shop. You have to walk through the shop which is something that i advise and then up the stair case with all our past legends pictures on the wall.

Have a good day

A bit of advice mate. To save any grief, take her to the zoo after training, otherwise your day in Melbourne will be one to forget.

Yeh I'll be at the training first, I couldn't care about the Zoo. She likes animals so I'm just doing it for her. Been to the zoo before, boring stuff.

i went for a bit

didnt really see much...

i couldnt see judd or murphy or gibbs..-they may have been doing weights i dont know..

when i got there they did a whole match lasting for about 15 minutes....
i think that the werent allowed outside the centre corrider or something...
-sentanta looked to be getting angry with walker and was also getting towled up at full back...

cain hackland did shite and started swearing and i think got punished for it and did push ups

the 3 new recruits krezeur, browne and armfield(i think) did boundary throw ins and ball ups...looked pretty laid back..

the whole squad then did clearences from a throw in and cam cloke looked really good...

cain hackland stuffed up big time because he wasnt looking and just stopped so this made the team go crazy at him...

not sure who it was but someone got smashed from behind by setanta and had to go of straight away..might have been concussion..

the boys then did evading tackles and learning how to watch the hips and not the ball when tackling...wiggo copped a big hit by an elbow and had to go inside and getted taped up and then came out (good to see)

i then left because it was too hot..

i really hope the boys play better then they did train because they all looked flat and ratts had to keep yelling and telling them what and how to do things. Skills also looked terrible by some and the chest marking was even too hard for others

anyway still along way to go for some of the younger boys..

I was there and don't have time to write a long report, but a few things caught my eye.

1. Jake Edwards was outstanding in the end-to-end match simulation. He was one-on-one against Setanta and slipped away from him on the lead twice to mark strongly, and later outbodied him to take a nice grab. Kicked 3 goals and moved very smoothly.

I can see Edwards taking on a Tim Boyle-esque role for next season. Although Edwards has never even taken a Bullants match by storm, he strikes me as the type who doesn't need to touch the footy much to have a bearing on a match, like a Boyle or Sean Rusling. Why not throw Edwards into the seniors as the 3rd or 4th forward? He reads the play well, and appears to be deceptively quick and strong.

For those who say that Edwards has never done much in the 2's to deserve promotion, I agree with this, but I also don't think a player like Tim Boyle would dominate at Box Hill. Boyle has benefited from the better delivery and superior forward-line system of an AFL side, and I just think Jake might be able to do the same.

Anyway, was very impressed.

2. Gibbs' disposal is sublime. The way he moved through the middle with those scything passes really was exciting to watch. So balanced and composed! Will be a far more damaging player next season.

3. Grigg was right in amongst the tackling drills and seems very comfortable with the tempo of the senior group. Was never a yard or too off the pace like a few of the other youngsters and his disposal was also pretty good.

4. Unfortunately, Saddington and the Wiggler had very good training sessions.

5. Hampson is going to be an absolute star and covers huge amounts of territory, at speed!!! (In the ball-up drills, was interesting to see that Setanta repeatedly reached around Cloke and beat him to the taps.) Hammer will hopefully take charge of the ruck in the next two seasons.

6. Was very impressed with Browne, barely missed a target by foot and always seemed to time his attack on the footy well. Seems very much at home at senior level.

Generally, it was a pretty sharp session, with the form of Edwards obviously the highlight.

One of the interesting things I noticed was Braddles doing kick to kick with Hackland and Bentick on the wing while the game was on in the corridor.

It was pretty basic stuff that I could have done.

Hackland is pathetic and I'd be pleased for him to be sacked now. He couldn't even understand a simply instruction a 3 year old could follow that Braddles gave him. "Only handball it one to AB" and Hackland replies back "Once?" I felt like standing up and saying "yeh what the **** do you think he said for **** sake".

Anyways things got worse, Hackland fumbled a couple and I heard Braddles muddle under his breath "for **** sake".

Seriously it was kick to kick and even my girlfriend said she wouldn't fumble it as much as Ackland.

It was good to get down there again, I watched Juddy, Hadley and Aisake doing handball drills at the start, can't wait to see Juddy getting right into it.

Just hearing the name "Hackland" makes me spew. He is a disgrace and is taking money under false pretensions. We simply have to spear him just like St Kilda and The Cows did.

training on friday? i only thought they only trained on monday thursdays and saturday. if so what time tomorrow because i might pop down to see the boys train.
