Let’s hope guys like Allan, Hayes, Steele, Parker etc can all press regular claims for senior minutes
Along with any of the new batch of draftees

Ruck depth with Smit and Steene in terms of their physical development is in good shape too.

Great to have JDG fit and healthy at this time of the year to start and hit the ground running with no interruptions too

Hopefully his only interruption may be sleep deprivation with his bubba due soon.

Parker just keeps impressing me with how fit he gets himself. Since day one he hasn’t put a foot wrong and continues to get better. Top notch physically.

Cochran stood out for me in that French test (quite annoyed the club spelt his surname wrong in the post), coming equal third alongside Hayes is awesome signs. I look forward to his debut whenever that is.

Joel won the 2km trial test in last year's combine. :)

I’m excited about Parker. I went to a training session before Christmas last year and he still seemed to be building his aerobic fitness base. He was labouring in quite a few of the running drills. Coming straight from cricket in 24 he had a lot of catching up to do. He is clearly much fitting coming into this pre season. I think he is the one most likely to break out.

I know it’s early but do we see any positional changes?

I feel like Parker, TJ, Ryan should spend some time in the midfield.

I know Smit is playing in defence, watching the VFL last year he still has a bit to go maybe the pies see him as a genuine option.

The other position changes are HH and Reef out of rehab to where. I understand Reef has a bit of rehab to go.

But he will be ready when he is ready

No signs on day 1 as it was more about testing. We will see once they do line groups

Reef - is he viewed as a #2, #3 or #4 tall? Which combination of Moore, Frampton, Howe and Reef could fit into our senior lineup? Is there a world where Moore/Howe/Reef could play as swingmen on the regular? Maybe Howe becomes a regular sub option?

Harrison - is he just a forward as he comes back from the ACL? Do the club seek to develop him as a mid, even if that’s in the VFL? Or does he play forward to release McCreery upfield more? That’s my hope!

De Goey - we wonder it every year, but is he a mid or a forward? What’s his split? Some have called for more forward time, but imo we are more desperate for a mid and I think that’s what the club needs to aim for if we are serious about having a crack this year.

Crisp, Sidey, Pendles - what do we do with these guys this year?

Perryman, Jaicos - do they get mid time and open the door for Parker or Reef to fill a spot in the backline?
