Thought TJ was quite strong defensively on Friday and played tall. The swirly conditions did not help the marking forwards to be fair

Pretty underwhelming practice match tbh, with the windy conditions and so many big names out.

Thought buller was good, great goal from the boundary in blustery conditions.

Saxena again proved he was worth the pick.

Membrey will be v important for us this year. Good forward craft, covers ground, and a great set shot. Motivation looks high to extend his career.

HDM surprised me with his coverage of ground and possessions. Still minimal hurt factor at afl level, but is putting in the big ones.

Steene good, and did his chances no harm of selection as the third forward / relief ruck.

Tyan clean again, but not as prevalent as in training sim. Looks like he needs to build his tank before garnering a senior midfield spot.

Elliott and Josh looking a class above.

Lippa carrying on his form from previous weeks.

Hayes also looking good. Zippy players like him crucial, as our midfield and mature players lack a bit of pace.

Long looks primed.

Would’ve liked to see West do more. Showed good vision and decision making again, but was overshadowed by more experienced forwards.

Zac mac showed nice signs. Needs to work on his kicking, but marking / timing looks v good.

Cochran still looks a little hampered by his niggle. Played more confidently prior to the scare.

Beau hopefully ready for round 1, but interruptions haven’t been great

Disappointed no Swadling unless someone can correct me. Injury list is a worry…

Defence looked good also. Doesn’t make for a great spectacle, but the intensity and focus that has been on show throughout preseason was there again. Prob helps that players know what the opposing team are trying to do…
How was Anderson cityslick?

Daicos last night absolutely brilliant in those warm conditions. Spent the most time on ground alongside McCluggage of all the mids.

Could be in for his biggest year yet. Hopefully beats Windhager in Opening Round and no Bedford in R3 is massive.

Just another flawless pre-season from him.

Got a few touches, plenty of intent, and doesn’t look out of place. Works hard, mature body etc.

Just doesn’t have the high end finishing skills that our more experienced players have. Yet…

No shock in this, as you don’t expect to recruit a bona fide gun at the tail end of the draft, but certainly looks a fringe option at this stage.

I would liken him to a Billy Frampton of the midfield / HBF / HFF brigades. Still a chance to come on, but early days, and more workhorse than silk in application, skillset and output

I liked that they started AA up forward and then moved in to midfield later. To play afl in this team he will need that flexibility.
Certainly kicking is not at Lippa level. But finds it ok, is a strong body and showed a few nice side steps out of traffic.

Will definitely play games. Whether that is opening round - might need an injury or two in his spots

TBH It might be debatable if he tags at all in OR, Saints probably want to use him as a proper midfielder this season.

Nick is probably mostly safe from tags until the end of the first half of the year, when we play Sydney and Geelong.

Nick was cramping up a storm in the first game last year. Seems like he is even better prepared this time around judging by SOO? Or was it purely the humidity in that GWS game last year?
From memory (and correct me if I’m wrong) but wasn’t it more humid last night than that game?

Nick didn’t have a very dominant start to last year. I expect things to be much different this time around. His game looked complete last night and is noticeably bigger.

Hopefully we can nab our first OR win too.

Thanks Jen, your footage fantastic! You might need to contact the ABC...😉

Willy - CFC needs to find the ball in his hands, very good user of the footy, especially around the 50 me arc. We need him to take the next step.

Steene - Yes, extremely pleased with his out put, another CFC needs to step up.

O Riain - The knock on Jacob for me is he doesn't kick forward enough, take on defense but the first third he did exactly that, with the wind I presume, pleasing!

Angry - Wow, that was pleasant to watch....Some minor blemishes but can find the footy, looks like a natural mid and mostly good decisions made and disposal AFL standard.

Odin - Taj looks like he can find the footy too, decisions made and or disposal let him down somewhat.
Good to hear reviews complimentary of Ryan’s performance - with a clear injury run this year he should continue to build and hopefully surprise - hopefully like Long last year.

Lyon will 100% tag him. Take it to the bank.

GWS have an injury crisis. We might regret opting out of it

Looking forward to watching our training run at Bundoora on Friday. Be interesting if we play a mainly VFL team
