The Daily Fail reporting we did insert buy back clauses in the Traore and Ake transfers.

Liverpool being quoted astronomical fees for their targets - 70M for VVD, 70M for Keita, 25M for AOC.
It's so weird. I think clubs get us confused with City or Chelsea or Real Madrid etc. We're just not that rich yet clubs continually try to absolutely ream us. It's annoying.

Think with Ox is that he is leaving Arsenal because he wants to play every game, and he wants to play in central midfield. Is he goes to Liverpool it's because you have offered him that, which I don't think he is good enough to do for a top 6/UCL club.
I just don't think we will be offering him that or making any promises. Firstly I dont think Klopp picks people on promises. He picks players on form, tactics and how they approach the training track. Secondly, no way Klopp promises him a starting spot given we only have three spots in midfield and one is definitely going to be Coutinho's.

Means he is fighting with Wijnaldum, Henderson, Can, Lallana for two spots and he's not better than any of them.

you are rich, just not city or chelsea rich. You could spend 200m this summer and still make a profit.

I wonder what FSG is doing with this money since our net spend over the last 4 windows is 15mil (After buying Salah).

Dont worry too much. No way we're gonna throw that much money at Arsenal for a guy who has 12 months left on his contract.

We are linked with Keane in a similar scenario, also for £25mil. I can't justify any club spending that sort of money for someone out of contract in a years time, 15-20 absolute max

pocketing it! Not taking the piss. Take your EPL TV rights, add UCL TV rights then add your merchandise profits and sponsorship.

Then get angry at FSG lol

Insufficient evidence? Why did the club apologise, that's admitting they did something wrong.

Because we are idiots, the apology was ordered by the owners

I don't think they want to pay up for VVD and used the alleged tap up as a way to kill the transfer, that's my opinion

Liverpool had to come out and apologise, they had obviously done something and couldn't have any heat for it because of the youth transfer ban they have.

They basically jumped instead of being pushed.

It is unenforceable if a club decides against abiding by it.
Transfers are effectively contracts between clubs and under FIFA rules, and probably the laws in the clubs respective countries (although I'm not 100% sure on that one), are legally binding. It would be a massive shitshow and almost certainly go to the CAS and possibly legal action if a club didn't abide by the terms of the agreement.

Pretty much why I don't think he'll go to Liverpool. His options for me are either to stay and fight for his spot at Arsenal or take a step down to a mid-table club and be a guaranteed starter (ie: he could be a good replacement for Barkley at Everton if they sell him for big $$$). The champions league is something but he will be likely signing a 4 year contract with a club and next season Liverpool could miss out and we could be back in, the league is so even you can't be sure of any club qualifying every season.

World Cup next year. Surely moves to a club that guarantees weekly starts.

Chamberlain is only 23/24 years old. I wouldn't give up on him just yet if I was Arsenal. Especially considering all the investment put into him over the years.

Admittedly I perhaps rate him higher than most due to seeing a smaller sample space of games than most Arsenal fans.

But then you run the risk of not getting the player at all. If Keane has another good season at Burnley then a bigger club will be more than happy to pick him up on a free.

Same with us and Keita who apparently has a release clause for 2018. We could wait, but if he has another great season then someone else will probably get him.

Arsenal don't want to lose him, problem is he doesn't have a spot in the team at the moment and we can't promise him one. Behind Bellerin at RWB, has never flourished as a wide forward and hasn't shown enough to be first XI at CM. Given us playing Europa this season he will get plenty of games in that competition, imo his best move would be to stay and try and prove himself capable rather than moving considering I don't see him starting in any of the midfields of the other top 6 sides either.

Yeah I dont think he will end up with us either. I think he has less competition in CM at Arsenal than he would at Liverpool. Plus it's a world cup year so he will want to play a lot and put himself in the window to get to a world cup.

True, I think it comes down to how much you want the player. I think for us, Ox is a take it or leave it. Not too fussed but if it were say Keita, then I think we would push the boat out.

If we get Keita we'd be massively stocked in midfield, the only way Ox would get a game would be outwide when Salah or Mane is out

Even without Keita he still wouldn't be a starter
If we got Keita, he would be far down the pecking order in CM. He could perhaps find games as a wide forward in a front three but then he's competing with Salah, Mane, Firmino, Sturridge, Origi and even Coutinho.

I honestly think Ox's best bet is perhaps a loan to a Newcastle, Everton, Southampton, that next step down, get plenty of starts and have a big year to prove himself.

Depends how you look at it, although the point is valid. I'd just question if that player is worth the fee, or if someone else suitable for the role could be had for around the same money if not less.
