Talking of Everton Franny Jeffers has come out & said that he'd like to go back to Everton as everyone knows how much he loves the club:confused: maybe he hasn't noticed but the fans don't love him anymore (not unless they're disguising their love by booing & shouting abuse at him).

Sounds a bit like when Teddy Sheringham went to United. He never hid the fact that his heart lay with Spurs and that his time with United was simply to win some silverware. In his first year with United, he said that the Spurs fans still loved him but nonetheless, he was booed by the Spurs fans (I also remember that he missed a penalty in that first game against Spurs). But when he returned to White Hart Lane, he was greeted back with open arms.

I also remember getting excited about the signing of the likes of Carl Griffiths, Eike Immel and Eddie McGoldrick so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. ;)

What are you talking about Eddie McGoldrick was quality!:D

I still remember a Cup Winner's Cup tie away to some Belgian team, maybe Standard Liege?, the year that we won the comp & we won the game 7-0 or 7-1 & Steady Eddie scored a beauty, he went on a dazzling dribble from the wing & then BANG from the edge of the area into the top corner, funnily enough I can't remember any similar episodes from him.

As for Jeffers, yeah it looks like we've done our dough to some degree on him but I wouldn't say that it was a bad move from his point of view, he's been part of a Championship winning squad & I doubt that will ever happen to him again.

But the money we paid for him & Gio VanBronkhurst could probably buy us a couple of world class superstars now.

Leeds have been linked to Hidetoshi Nakata. Hard to believe but the rumour has been floating around for a while. Most likely just a rumour, but would love it to be true.

We also have been linked to Li Tie, who played, on loan at Everton last season. I was impressed with him and he wouldn't be a bad signing.

Leeds have come out and said that they want to sign an Asian player to cash-in on the potential money making opportunities that could arise from such a signing. Very similar to what Real have done with Beckham.

A bit the same as you. I think he could be a quality signing, but I could see it all going badly wrong. I have a few question marks over his ability to play out a full season after a long while playing squad football, and I have a few question marks about his willingness to fight for the cause. Still on a free and from what I hear only (I can't believe I said only) £38k a week I think it is a risk worth taking.

I must admit I quite like the bloke, and I do admire the way he was prepared to fight for his spot in Madrid when it would have been pretty easy to skulk home. I also remember getting excited about the signing of the likes of Carl Griffiths, Eike Immel and Eddie McGoldrick so I guess I shouldn't complain too much. ;)

Not sure about Macca either, but I also would take the punt. I reckon we need one more signing & if it's Macca then fine.

Immel was a gun moomba!

What about Nicky Weaver?? :D

"Future England Number 1!!" BAHAHAHAHAH :D :D

I wasn't aware that the future was over yet. Four knee operations in the past two years, still only 22 or 23 I am not prepared to write him off just yet.

When fit i'd have him ahead of Nash, not sayin much there mind. He's had no luck.

If he can't establish himself this season, he can go off & be Wednesday's No.1 instead or the Blades No.2 (behind Kenny whom I rate)

I'd say Weaver is finished and will end up being a respectable keeper in the lower leagues.

If he's rated so highly why does Silly Kev insist on signing wheelchair bound individuals to stand between the posts? ;) Or is he still injured.

I reckon Weaver = Taibi.

Still injured, hoping to get the all clear to get back to full training any time now.

If KK signs another pensioner next year I'd say Weaver is finished, the fact that we have him on the books is possibly why KK is signing short term keepers rather than longer term prospects.

Not as good as that other German bloke we had in goals for a fair while ;)

I wasn't banking on someone capable of losing his spot to Andy Dibble when he signed either :D

Seriously I can't stand by & watch people bag Andy Dibble, you see I was at the game where he made his name.

It was the 1988 Littlewoods' Cup Final (League Cup) & Arsenal whod' beaten Liverpool in the previous year's final were playing Luton.

In those days the trophy was actually seen as more than a Christmas tree decoration & both teams took it seriously, despite Luton taking the lead Arsenal hit back to make it 2-1 & were utterly dominant, we had chanc after chance but Dibble kept pulling off outstanding saves & just when it looked like we would never score we got a penalty, none of the forward players fancied it (shame on them ) so Winterburn had a go & Dibble pulled off another fine save, this spelled the end for us & Luton scored 2 late goals to win the game & leave this particualr 16 year old gutted.:(

So never again mock Andy Dibble because I saw him play like a cross between Dino Zoff & Peter Scmeichel.

While we're on "Officer" Dibble, I can't let that anecdote go without balancing the ledger!

Way back in Season 89/90 City are believe it or not ;) struggling, we're away to Forest & it's 0-0. Dibble gets the ball & prepares to hoof it down field, he has the ball resting on the palm of his hand. Gary Crosby notices this & sneaks up beside big Andy. Crosby nods the ball off Dib's palm & runs into on open net to score, 1-0.

The City ground go nuts, Dibble wants blood & City lose yet again & remain in the relegation zone. When I saw it I shook my head in disgust & think you don't let that happen & stay up!

Happy ending though as City did stay up, but it was no surprise when Tony Coton arrived before the start of the next season. Who was in turn replaced by Immel :).

Andy Dibble is Manchester City personified! The gap between his best & his worst was immeasurable.

Yeah I remember that goal it was a classic.

It doesn't make me feel any better when I realise that Dibble's best game was that 1988 final & that it he never again reached such dizzying heights.:(

Bosvelt got the prize, should sign tomorrow. Best known for re-arranging Denis Irwins kneecap in a Champs League game a few years back. Should add a bit more spice to the first derby game at the sty.

Robbie Savage!

I'll take your  and raise you an

The Goat and Huckerby are still at the club, but will probably be gone by the end of the month. I'd love for the Goat to get a runnout at the new stadium. Vuous is off one a year long loan, not sure whether he will come back from it, but stranger things have happened.

I think that is it, although there have been plenty of rumours about Mettomo and Berko (get lost Portsmouth) leaving.

In

Tarnat,Sinclair & Seaman.

As well as Bosvelt, Keegan has said we might sign one more to cover the Ali B retirement.

Scrap that. City have accepted an undisclosed offer from Reading. All down to whether the Goat would rather be getting first team football there, or squad football in Manchester :(
