Remember that vividly.

Another reason to hate City. ;)

Just had a look at the photo of the incident. Doesn't look too pretty.

Some interesting quotes from Fergie and Gary Chuckle in light of the Keane / Haaland situation.

Wolves are trying to get Jardel  Seems unlikely
Blackburn are after Neil Clement
Australian Luke Wilksire is off to Bristol City (which is stupid considering our lack of midfield depth and the fact he is still young)

What a relief!!!

DIETMAR HAMANN today hit out at continued speculation regarding his future at Anfield and vowed to help the Reds to a much improved Premiership campaign.

Rumours the German midfielder could be a high profile casualty in Gerard Houllier's summer transfer policy have proved unfounded so far.

The 28-year-old is still a key part of the Liverpool squad and he's hoping suggestions he's on the move will finally come to an end. "It just goes to show it was all speculation", said Hamann. "This has happened to me for the last three or four years now and it always seems to start up at the same times each year.

"I don't know why it happens and I'm not that interested. I am still here so it shows there was no truth in the rumours at all. All I know is I have two years left to go on my contract and I am happy here."

Now the German is looking for a big improvement on last year's fifth place finish in the Premiership.

"Last season was disappointing and we know we have to do better. The run we went on in the middle of the season was very poor and we can't let that can't let that happen again.

"We are working hard during pre-season to make sure we are right for the new season. We don't want a repeat of that bad spell last season and I am confident it won't happen. "There's a real determination among the players to make this season a good one for everyone at Liverpool."

Chelsea's being linked with Claude Makelele. His apparently looking at an improved pay packet and Real arent being forthcoming. Chelsea need a CM, Makelele, Veron and Emerson are the 3 their currently being linked with.

Is only (ha ha) on a reported £20k a week with Real, with another three years left on his contract. I'd say he'd jump at a move if he gets the chance.

Luke Wilkshire will never be Premier standard so we are better off getting rid and using one of the next crop of youngsters as back up. Anyway supermac will solve our lack of midfield depth soon with some quality signings. He better otherwise it could be another tough season at the riverside:rolleyes:

Conceciao went to Dortmund :( We are now trying to get Dalmat from Inter

From Skysports:

Middlesbrough have missed out on loan target Flavio Conceicao - and are now believed to be chasing Inter Milan midfielder Stephane Dalmat.

Brazilian midfielder Flavio has opted to join Borussia Dortmund on a year's loan from Real Madrid because of the lure of Champions League football.

"I am very happy that my loan deal with Borussia can finally be sealed," he said.

"I have chosen the German team because they are going to be playing in the Champions League next season and that is very important for me because it shows they are ambitious."

"I want to publicly thank Middlesbrough with all my heart for the interest they showed in me," he said.

That interest now seems to have switched to French midfielder Dalmat, and Inter sporting director Marco Branca verified Boro have made an approach.

He said: "I can confirm there is official interest from Middlesbrough in Stephane Dalmat. The player remains an objective of several English clubs."

Dalmat joined Inter in 2001 from Paris St Germain but has not been a regular starter and made only 15 league appearances last season.

"We do not want to free the player, so if he departs it will be on a loan or joint-ownership deal," added Branca.

We don't seem to be having much luck at the moment, but as the tranfer window gets closer I think that there will be plenty of bargains to be got. Players without contracts will get less choosey and there are still plenty of clubs desperate for cash who will have to settle for less than they want at the moment.

By the way Bulldog, what did you do wrong in a past life to be stuck with Boro AND Footscray:confused: :D
