There has only been one study that shows trans athletes have a clear advantage Roberts (2020). The chief author said it's the XX trans men that dominated the cisgender men seeing a 43% improvement in just 12 months trans men outperformed CM athletes.

Isn't trans-male hormone therapy effectively just loading up on banned PEDs when we're talking about sports performance?

Testosterone is the primary component of that hormone therapy right?

Would be interesting to see if the residual benefit was as strong after a period when the testosterone therapy ends.

This is interesting, don't think the issue here is that she is transgender, and they aren't even implants. In what world is it ok for a teacher to wear Z cup prosthetics to school?

Yeah I can agree that is a problem and her being trans isn't the issue here. Unfortunately transphobes will point to this as being a reason to make laws that affect all trans people.

I think that also a problem with militant trans-activism and why its not always helpful. Where there is zero effort to confirm to societal norms, it is hard to complain of a lack of acceptance in that society.

I can see your POV with that one. I do not how trans activists reacted to that but as a trans person myself I don't ever wanna be associated with that.

the article doesn't state whether this teacher is trans or cis. i read it and thought it was a cis-female. does that make me in the wrong? not sure.

I don't know for sure, but I'd imagine the student was banned under blanket sexual harassment laws that outlaw the photographing of any teacher's breasts. Cis gender or trans gender.

Having said THAT, yeah z-cup implants on a teacher would be mighty distracting from whatever she might be trying to teach. It's probably a bit outside the bounds of appropriateness. Not because she's trans but because those breasts are just so prominent, and the nipples too.

I could be swayed by argument for Kayla though.

They're prosthetic, she puts them on in the morning before going to teach her class.

A trans-women wearing prosthetic boobs makes sense, Z cups are pretty extreme though, but hey each to their own. Z cups for teaching high school?

Yeah, it's probably a few cup sizes too far for someone in the teaching profession.

Looks like someone fishing for reactions to me, sadly doing more harm than good for the trans community.

Under the WBC, boxing has its own transgender category under the 'at birth rule' ie those born male can't box females.

The problem is the talent pool for women's boxing is pretty shallow, assuming it would be 100 times shallower for trans athletes. (I'm not saying I have a better answer by the way).

I know Clarissa Shields (best women's boxer in the world) has said a few times she wouldn't want to fight someone born as a man.

Transgender athletes playing in single-sex sport teams - ABC Melbourne.

In this amazing conversation I got to take questions from the listeners. I got the ”what if Mike Tyson became a woman” question from a cranky Dad.

No it’s in section 2 of the article you just posted. The problem is what people perceive hate propaganda is. Everybody is offended these days, people then get their pitchforks out and destroy people lives because they think they are propagating ‘hate speech’.

Make no mistake if you don’t use the correct pronouns to a trans person and they go to the media you are completely f’ed. You might as well become homeless cause everything you have will be trashed especially your reputation. That’s what he’s advocating against essentially but he goes on a deeper level than just that.

All of these are still examples of toxic masculinity being exhibited by a woman. Seriously mate, this is far more complex stuff than you're portraying it as...and academics far smarter than you or I are still not quite in agreeance about what constitutes what.

May need to respectfully disagree. In a modern world, from my own personal experiences, both sexes display unappealing traits that can fundamentally be linked to a wide array of origins, from societal expectations to basic hormones.

You're absolutely correct that it's complex. Hence why labelling what I perceive to be common female character flaws as examples of MALE toxicity a hard one to rationalise.

are you taking the piss?

people misgender trans people everyday (often intentionally) and nothing happens. if you had ever spoken to a trans person maybe you would realise that

That why I said IF they go to the media. There are literal examples of this with a quick google search. Have you not heard of people losing their jobs for being ‘transphobic’? Cmon man, happens all the time.

I’ve only ever come across a trans person once in my life. I was so scared about offending him that it felt awkward and we never went past small talk. He was an older person in my uni class so I knew I couldn’t f up or I’d get kicked out.

Huffing and puffing on Twitter is “destroying people’s lives”?

Huffing and puffing on Twitter is “Trashing everything people have including their reputation”?

I posted an article just before of a teacher getting fired for not using the correct pronoun. So yeah it is.

Name the people who have lost their jobs for an instance of misgendering.
Took me 15 seconds

The key words in Chief ’s post were “an instance” of mis-gendering. You’re making it sound like people are being fired for accidentally using the wrong pronoun once. The teacher in the article you quoted was fired for repeatedly refusing to use a student’s preferred pronouns. That isn’t just some innocent mistake and it simply isn’t on in this day and age. Assuming you identify as a male (forgive me if you don’t, I’m merely using it as an example), how would you feel if you had repeatedly been told you were a “good girl” by the same teacher each day, and that teacher didn’t stop even after you’d asked them to?

The board voted unanimously to fire said teacher and rightly so.

You read the article, did you? He didn't call the student good girl. He declined to address them with any pronoun, neither female or male
