was just about to start a thread asking if I heard this correctly on channel nine.. obviously mark Neeld sees nothing decent in our forwards.. cloke, Clark jurrah Howe bring it.. would be an amazing play

quite honestly to get cloke would be more than happy to see them go, definitely 1 of them anyway

Maybe I should be more specific here - Moooney goes without saying I suppose but would the club let Jamar walk and put Clark in the ruck? Recruiting someone like Cloke means we have a number of forwards and something would have to give.

I'd rather invest money in somebody to get the ball down there. Wouldn't say no but surely the midfield is the place to be throwing stupid dollars around.

He probably wouldn't. Neeld at the helm is the only thing in our favor and even then that's clutching at straws.

Sorry mate, didnt mean to be, well, Rude.

But:

Clark and Cloke would work beautifully. One plays deep while the other take his turn up the ground.

We have Martin, Gawn, Fitzpatrick and (shudder) Spencer still on our list. Plenty of ruck depth, may lack quality, but the depth is there.

Bate and Dunn hopefully cut along with Green. Petterd, trade bait.

Looks pretty ****ing good to me.

Cloke is a top 10 player in the league, he is younger than both of Moloney and Jamar.

We would have the best tall forward combo in the league, while still maintaining plenty of midfield plodders and ruckman who handball whenever they get it.. Where do i sign?

Gun forwards are harder to find IMO. Use our three first round picks to top up the midfielda and even get another mature age player to go in there as well.

true, just thinking Clokes a long shot here, then again I didnt think we would get Clark..

Guys, just because we're throwing the bucks at one player doesn't mean we can't throw it at two.

With how our salary cap and ridiculous cap space is unfolding, in fact, I wouldn't be surprised if we got 2 players in.

If true, goes to show Neeld does not rate Watts as a forward and possibly does not expect Cook to make it as a player. Having Cloke and Clark in the forwardline would definitely take the pressure off Watts regardless.

Personally, I'd welcome someone with Cloke's ability to our club with open arms. But I'd be more inclined to throw big bucks at a couple of midfielders who can actually get the ball down to the forward line. I think Cloke will stay at Collingwood anyway. But if we do have a crack, then I'd be very happy. Nabbing Clark proved this FD is prepared to throw some weight around.

I'm not sure where all the "Why would he play for us?" line of questioning is coming from. Things aren't going our way on the field but the club is in good shape off it. Good football people are steering the ship. We have a chance to draft very strongly and turn things around really quickly. Money in the cap. I reckon we'd be pretty attractive for any player.

I think the Pies would be keen to keep Cloke wrapped up, but if we did get him it'd be huge for us. Though I think we have to weigh up how good any mids we may get through the draft are, compared to any we may be able to trade for/get as free agents. We need a good midfielder or 2 more than a key forward, but as CFH said, key forwards are a lot less common.
I'd be happy for us to go for him, and ecstatic if we get him, but I won't be heartbroken if we miss out.

It certainly isn't of Mitch proportions (17 goals from 5 and a half games with a poor midfield) but I suppose we could find a use for him.

7 year deal?? Bloody hell! Taking that with a grain of salt of course but that would be unbelievable if it was even close to being true.
