Amen to that! Was very happy for him and with him tonight. After all the crap he has copped this year especially, it was good to see him silence some naysayers whose only claim to fame was that he couldn't kick goals against a quality opposition.. Well guess what suckers?? He's done it against the best!

Well done Trav :thumbsu:

Awesome effort.
Especially because he had 3 players hanging of hin for most of the night. ( And by saying HANGING,I mean hanging. I just wish the umps would see it also)
p.s: not blaming the umps for the loss tonight.

Yeah deserves all the pundits tonight. Was fantastic and rag-dolled Clangermakers. Very happy with his performance and one of the few who can hold their head high.

Been dirty on Cloke all year but I'll give credit where it's due, he was sensational tonight. Kicking 6 in final and he got better as the game went on. Sign him up and get more support around him next season..

If we lose him we are ****ed.
20 years for a another Collingwood flag without him.

I'm starting to feel this way also.

Take Cloke out of our side, add him to Carlton and we go a long, long way behind the pack. We go from 50 points worse than Hawthorn to 80 points worse, eliminating the one clear positional advantage we had then arming a top 4 quality team (Carlton) with the best power forward in the game and gifting them their 17th and probably 18th and 19th flags. Not for me.

We might get some high draft picks and start to rebuild but once we do GWS and Gold Coast will take over as the powerhouses of the competition so retaining Cloke and winning now needs to be the priority with what we have.

See why I've argued all year he's deserved what he's asking?

He's kicked 56 goals in a poor year, is light years ahead of any other collingwood forward and until tonight the majority were still happy to **** him off for nothing

11 Goals in the last 2 Games is a Fantastic Return.

Also he is know looking like the Player that deserves the Money his is asking for

So going by your Thoughts Knight without Cloke we might be outside the Top 8 and even looking like a Bottom 4 Side that should start Tanking?

I don't think we go back at all. We have a Gun Midfield. AA CHB. The Tools are still be competive and stay about where we are know which is about 3-6 on the ladder

Without Cloke we become a slower Carlton so probably a regular 6th-10th type quality team which won't be all that much fun whereas if we keep Cloke we remain a top 4 side and premiership contendor.

You are right in identifying our midfield strength but with Tarrant gone from the back half (we can no longer contain Franklin), Jolly a year older (midfield advantage reducing - and next year likely is his last year) and no Cloke (who else is a target inside 50?). There is no way for our current team to beat Hawthorn and even Carlton - therefore closing our premiership window shut. Hard.

Agree you make some Good Points with Jolly and Tarrant. Though we would have a ton of Cap Room which we could bring in some other players. Like IF Martin came he could help Jolly. You like Gault and he could be Simmlar to Tarrant.

Though the Big thing would be the Blues would be one of the Best Sides with Cloke.

Our midfield is overrated this season. I find it pretty baffling that Thomas is copping nowhere near the same amount of criticism that other players on the list have faced this season - would ship him to GWS in a heart beat if it meant keeping CLoke.

Tarrant should really reconsider his decision to retire at the end of the year. There aren't many defenders in the comp that could hold Franklin as well as he did tonight.

This deserves its own thread.

He cops it when he plays poorly, so he deserves credit when he plays well.

Was great tonight when others struggled, provided a target and silenced his critics

Yep, played very well, hope we don't lose him.

Think back to our best during 2010-2011, if we lost cloke we still would've smashed teams, now that we've slipped he becomes more important, and he also becomes an easy target to blame for our below par form, but him wanting a million a year hasn't helped his cause there.

Spot on. I was one of the idiots calling for his head. He deserves his new contract. Stood up when it mattered and has done so in many finals. Worth the dosh. Wonder how many of our other big earners can look him in the eye today. Well done son.
Hopefully we don't lose him.

f*** I'm the only one on this forum all year who's been telling everyone to pull their heads in and say the club need to bow to market pressure and contract Cloke to whatever it will take to keep him exactly because of what you see last night.

Footy public...... like, does anyone actually watch footy anymore or just listen to robbo....

His last two games have been great- he's playing like he believes in himself again.

We weren't imagining things a few weeks ago though- he was playing as if he had the weight of the world on his shoulders. The reason behind this sudden surge in confidence is the (five) million dollar question..
