I actually don't think that Trav would get a game this year unless we have heaps of players injured or something. Is he really ready for the snr team? His only been here not long at all and his only young.

Well said! Totally agree.

It's evident that the club are attempting to get his body ready for senior footy this year.

I dare say he will be ready to play come round 1 of the NAB cup next year.

From everything I've read he's nowhere ready. Might as well let him get totally fit, get his skills together and work on maybe bulking up a little before we throw him in the deep end. We have enough options right now for the small forward/pacy midfielder role that we don't need to rush him.

Agree totally. I wouldn't even be too concerned if he didn't play much football at VFL level for the rest of the season, unless of course he is 100% raring to go. Just use the rest of the season and next years pre season on getting fully fit and a massive weight gain program so that he is more than ready for next year.

There is really no point in rushing him, he isn't going to be a big difference this season, but he could well be something very important by next season.

Also, IMO the likes of Byrnes, Tenace and Prismall deserve the rest of the year to stake their cases before Varcoe is thrown in and taking game time off these guys.

Agreed...this year was always going to be an adjustment year as he was behind in terms of fitness due to his foot injury.

I think it was the middle of last year.

Yep, he missed a large chunk of last season which is why we got him at the bargain we did.

Thompson and draft experts say he was good enough to be in the top few if injuries didn't play their part.

Didn't he miss the U/18 carnival [starts this week] last year because of his foot injury ?

Correct Jubs.

Trav only managed the 2 senior appearances for Central before the injury.
