I was about 5 rows back from where Trav nailed that tackle. As soon as Buddy took off Trav was after him like a shark in dirty water and I immediately announced to my wife that he was going to nail him. Come the crunch and I was up and yelling like a wild man.

Truly beautiful chase and tackle of a big strong unit by a much smaller player. And yeah, the forward roll straight up on to his feet was the cherry on top.

Aside from Hunt, Varcoe would have to be the best kick in our side. His kicking to a leading forward is supreme. Some exciting signs.
 
I think Trav is the best general play kick in our side.

He had 4 goal assists (and a goal) tonight. We only kicked 12. He currently leads the league for goal assists, not bad for a bloke who missed the first five weeks of the season.
 
Although he only got 4 Goal Assists put down as a stat, I'm pretty sure he would have been involved in 10 of the 12 goals tonight. And I noticed that Ablett dished off to him a couple of times even though he could have burst away and gone himself. It's great seeing the team and Travis have utmost confidence in his ability to set up. Trav is coming!

Wow, this guy is really having a breakout season. Happy to eat my words I've been one of his stonger critics before. Everytime he gets it something seems to happen, and of course our statistic-obsessed game now does not tell the true story

he was the highlight of last night - that smother recovery and pinpoint kick turned a goal that would have seen us 33 points down to being only 21 points down and kick-started a resurgence that saw us leading at half-time.
 
Fantastic, one of the few positives to come out of the game.

Loved seeing him up the ground more and I think given how rapidly some of our older midfielders are slowing up, the Varcoe pace in and around there will be very helpful in the finals.

Please re-sign him soon. :thumbsu:

Is absolutely burning the turf at the minute.

He got to a number of contests on Saturday that he had no rite to get to.
He has huge endeavour.

He's using his pace in a way that Tenace (for example) never did.

And he is silk at top speed.
