He is an Intersting Player from the Early 2000's, Picked 72 in the 2001 Draft.

A 195cm/100kg Key Back who did get his 1st game untill 2003 and Had a Good 3 Seasons after that.

Was not the Best but Not the Worse KPP we selected in that Period.

About what you Think of Walker.

He is not as Good as our Current Young KPP Players in Dawes,Brown,Reid and Anthony but he was better then Young Crop around him then with Hall,Morrison and Forgot Who Else

I think he didn't cut it at AFL level and was quite rightly delisted.

Doesn't really require a lot of discussion.

Had a good three seasons? He was good? Either my memory is going or he was player we gave plenty of time, but never came on, and played most of his games in the vfl. is that right?

Think he Played 50/50 AFL and VFL, I thought he was Okay and Probably the Product of having no Other good Young KPP on our list at that time period

I have a newspaper photo of him being yelled at by MM......
I think Quite a Few where like that 2 I can remember where Davis and Scotland where Yelled at

Would You Rather Talk about Jason Wild?:p
the young blood nut did have a very healthy habit of getting the ball didnt use it well.

Walker couldnt get it, couldnt use it. But by jeeze was he a big boy and athletic.

Typlic athlete who we tried to make a footballer out of

Very ordinary footballer.

I remember he kept Richo to low goal figures and got praise. Richo however kicked about 10 behinds on the day.

Cmon Dave get serious, he was a horrible footballer whos hilight was taking a contested mark in the square against sydney at the SCG and goaling inthe first minute, 3 good seasons? Obviously your definition of good and mine differ hugely.

lol tex was terrible and only got games because we had very little kpp stocks.
and That just another reason why our Drafting Sucked big Time, Only Thanks to Hine we have some Descent KPP Players

He did more than that, Must admit have not seen ton of Video on Walker but I am just going what other people told me and His Stats

I think the key thing to remember was that he was pick 72 so it's worth taking an athlete at that pick.
Spot he was a 6th Round Flyer who we thought could make it. Played 38 Games and I think that is not bad for a 6th Rounder who you where not sure he could even get a game

Tex looked the goods early but clearly not up to AFL standard, though did show glimpses. Proved recruiting an athlete and not a footballer still a risk, at least in early 2000s.

The highlights were few and far between over the course of his playing career. He showed glimpses at times that he could be a good player, but ultimately his skills weren't up to it and he didn't have a natural flair for the game. I agree that an accurate summation was that he was an athlete but not a footballer, or at least that was the impression that I always got given he seemed to struggle to read the play.

That being said, he was a very late pick, a bit of an experiment if you like, although I feel we persisted with him for too long as he never really found his feet at the highest level.
