AFL Club
Carlton
I think this guy would de a great pick up in the
PSD draft with our second pick.
190cm defender who is quick and loves to dash out
of defense and has senior experience 60 plus games.
Thouhgts?

He's not a defender. More of a spare-parts wingman who would provide adequate service, but I'm not sure he's what we're looking for. Would probably slot in nicely at a club like Sydney, who are looking to consolidate rather than re-build.

how old is he? will he fit under our youth policy? my opinion he's an OK player? NOT WORTH IT i wud prefer makepeace!:p

I was actually surprised when he got delisted. I thought he had a decent season, however, that said, I wouldn't want him at Carlton as I don't think he has much improvement left in him and he doesn't fit in with our club's direction. We don't need players who weren't good enough at their former clubs, we've been there and all it gave us was four years of nothing (well, I guess Walker, Murphy, Kennedy and Gibbs count for something, but anyway), we're past recruiting delisted players.

Quite a few Sainters were dissapointed to see him go. Was was semi regular as a starter but given our full complement of players (if we ever get lucky with injuries!) he would not get a game. I hope he finds a new home as he has a good work ethic and some sound skills. He will always be fondly remembered for kicking a 60m goal on the run in the last few seconds at the Dome to beat the Lions a few years back.

Not the right player for Carlton. Perhaps Geelong or Richmond, a team who can fit in another forward option.

If we want to add more deadwood to the club then get him...........

We will be taking a step back if we pick this guy up in the PSD

I think we've filled all our needs for the time being (barring a decent back pocket, although I think they'll probably put Lappin in that role this year.)

I'd just go with whoever we rate the best player, regardless of position, out of the kids. I would've liked Makepeace as a permanent back pocket to put some experience into the backline, but it's not the direction the club wants to go.

Early prediction, this will be Matthew Lappin's last season... atleast as a blue.

You think he'll be Sheedy's next mature age recruit.

Spud.

Lets not go after any retreads. Just when you think we'll only be picking up youngsters these names pop up. Lets hope the club are smarter than that

No thanks.........would rather see the game time go to the similar (tall flanker/winger) we already have in Russell, Edwards, Raso, Grigg, Benjamin, Anderson and the like.

Yeah but he won't trade for him, he'll just take him in the PSD. We've already seen Matthew Lappin singing the praises of Sheedy after last years IR series.

Very true, but he'd want to have a better year than he did in 2006, otherwise we might not even renew his contract and no other club will want him either. Make or break in 2007 for M.Lappin
