In saying that I listened to what he said in his speech at Bondi and was surprised some of the things he said was almost word for word what I’ve said on this forum recently.
The fact is Australians as a majority are sick of what’s going on in there country.
People want change and action not politicians doing nothing.
You are not in the majority mate. You are in the Pauline box which is about 16% of the voting block.
The majority of Australians have a more rational and nuanced view than Muslims = bad, which is basically what you've posted multiple times, even if you've vaguely walked back some of it.

When the far right wing extremism “took centre stage” during the Christchurch massacre, it was those like Josh Frydenberg and Peter Dutton who emphasized the equivalency debate and “don’t forget the Islamists” etc into that horrible event, essentially a “hey look at us don’t forget about us” campaign.
I don’t disagree with what they said, but I disagreed with their timing.
And again now, in the opposite direction.
I understand the politics and have half expected it, but it’s so sad to see that in making their political point scoring at a time of great sadness and emotion, politicians of all persuasions cannot show true leadership but encouraging the “us good and them bad” debate to fuel the next fire. It will never stop. And as someone who is very measured in my approach to world affairs, it truly makes me sad and fearful. The events, and the responses.
This feeling has grown only because of our political leaders.
There inability to listen to what people want is the main cause of division we have now in our community.
They need to stop beating around the bush and do something.
