It'll be good to get back to the point of having guys in Coburg that are really pushing for a spot in the seniors. Should also help the Burgers be a bit more competitive.

At the moment, candidates for replacement would be:

Hall for Schultz
Raines for Johnson
Jackson for Tambling
Graham for Hartigan

Tiv and Chaff are other yet to cement a spot, although they have improved recently so should be ok in the short term.

I thought graham was great yesterday. His experience shone thru.

Not really a comment on who should be in or out but isnt it nice to see we are developing some depth. Thats what will count over the full 22 weeks when we get some inevitable injuries.

Agreed, he had a good one and is a useful player, but I think he's just keeping the seat warm. To go forward though as a team we need to have guys like Hartigan and Schulz playing most matches which means someone has to make way.

hb: Hartigan Gaspar Newman
ch: Bowden Schultz Kellaway
c: Tuck Cogs Jackson
ch: Brown Richo Deledio
ff: Stafford Simmonds Pettifer
ob: Knobel Johnson Hyde
b: Tambling Campbell Krak Graham

em: Hall, Tivendale, Chaffey, Raines, Roach,

You know it makes sence.

However I cannot see Wallace dropping Tic of Chav any time soon.

Major positive

One of the key ingredients to success is depth , players having to earn thier spots , pressure to keep thier spots once they are in there .
players being picked on thier performance`s , not because we don`t have any other options .

It`s been a while

It has been a bloody long while. I cant remember the last time we had several 1st choice players out, including key position players and we won games let alone were even competitive. All I remember is shuddering when I heard of Richo's, Ottens and Gaspars injuries and then praying for their return.
The ruck/big forward looks like its slowly being covered as is one of the 2 key backline positions with Schultz. It looks all up but its still gonna take a while.

Feels good to be able to think the positive stuff for a change!

ditto his best game for the tigers without doubt.

I think other than make ommissions, make the players earn there spot in the 22. Everyone has been playing well enough to retain there spots. Rumour has it Tambling will be in contention for the game this weekend.

I reckon Krakouer might be at risk of being dropped too. Goes missing for too long. Hasnt done a lot over the last coupla weeks.

Yep, fair call. Whilst he was alright yesterday he does play in patches.

i wouldn't drop jackson or tivendale. Jackson is part of the midfield which is the most important ingrediant of the team. Tivendale will get back to top form and his kicking will be important. I would drop chaffey, graham and hall for schultz, johnson and tambling, because chaffey, hall and graham don't really make much difference and have little impact and they make mistakes too. Hartigan would probably replace Krakouer, because Kraqouer only contributes for about half a game usually.

I agree he can be patchy but I'd hate to lose his flair. Can really add a spark with the odd mercurial thing and its a great ingredient to have, provided it doesnt cost in other ways. But if he gets to a situation with pressure coming from the 2's he might come under the microscope.

Tambling & Krak could be something special...

Schultz, Johnson, Tambling, Hartigan and Roach into the current side and who would you drop?
Johnson is probably the only one of that lot that will come back straight into the Seniors. The others will probably get a bit of match practice up at Coburg.

As for who will be left out, the pressure St Kilda and Port will put us under over the next two weeks will give players a better opportunity to show whether they deserve their spots.

Stiff on Hartigan.
