He may get 30 touches and clearances, but he doesn't hurt the opposition. I like him, but we are never going anywhere with him in the middle. Time to bring in Thomson.

Yes I agree.
I'm sure there will be plenty of opposition but tuck's opponents continually hurt us.

He's an honest toiler at best. Not sure thompson is the answer but I guess we need to find out.

I equate taking Tuck out of the midfield to taking Bowden out of the backline.
It will take time to replace them but looking to the future, these guys are not part of any side pushing for a premiership.

Tuck could be tried as a forward playing off the bench. See if it works or else bye bye.

Last night we still were missing 5 or 6 from our best side. Simmonds and Raines should never be there and Connors is extremely soft. Tuck and Bowden are next to go. In with some quality next week. Rance, Thursty, Reiwoldt, Cousins, Thomson

Without Tuck we would lose one of the only edges we have over our opponent - the clearances - and if we don't get the ball out to start, we're going to have a lot of trouble getting it back.

Foley's work in the clearances won't stand up nearly as well without Tuck there to lead the way. With him gone we will start getting flogged by 60+ points every match.

Isn't Thomson supposed to be just as good at the hardball and clearance stuff, just with better skill and decision making?

Anyone who thinks Tuck is one of our main problems should maybe consider not posting ever again.

sure tuck is ineffective and plays for stats like foley, but they dont have much to replace him with. dont know why they wasted a pick on thomson, he isnt the answer.

HAHAHAHA

Tuck and Foley play for stats?

HAHAHAHAHA

It would be 1000 times truer that you only post for your post count.

I noticed he had a look last night and went one handed when he could of went hard and taken the mark ...think he dropped it and the ball taken away by the Bomber's ..looked pretty ordainary.

No he is part of the problem

Leads disposals this season, leads contested possessions, 4th in tackles, 4th in hitouts. His disposal efficiency isn't great but it's on par with Jackson who seems to be gaining favour around here.

Tuck is most definitely not part of the problem. He shouldn't have to be doing as much as he is, but that's not his fault. If Cousins was out there, if Cotchin was healthy and match fit and if Deledio would step up and be the player he should be then Tuck would be a great 4th or 5th midfielder.

How many midfielders do you want who don't hurt the opposition with skills? We have 1 too many I think

Lol MT you are delusional.
A player who wins the contested ball week in, week out and you ask for him to be delisted?
Please. Who else is gonna win the contested ball?
Foley?
He can't do it alone.
Jackson looks okay but if you ask every Richmond supporter about who's the best close-in player, everyone would say Tucky.
Or you gonna rely on Deledio or Tambling to get their own pill?
Yeah, not happening.

crikey if you add up all the opinions on this forum on who should go I think Richo might be the last man standing and he'd have 6 knives in his back:o

Yep, gave away a free kick. And another was a kick inside 50 over his head, could have been meant for him or the player behind him. However he started to jump and then pulled out, only for a Bomber to drift across and intercept the ball.

Maybe take him out of the midfield in the future but do not delist Tuck. Is a strong mark and a good shot for goal. Has more courage than most at our club and would also make a good half back or back pocket.

I'd love to see him take Rains position and get some game time into Connors , Collins and Edwards on the ball.

Connors should be in the middle. Should of been consistanly played there for 2 years now but Wallace has a problem with playing youth.

Andy Collins is so clean in the clintches but needs to spend more time on the ball to adapt to the pace of AFL. Edwards has ability also but lacks height.

Tuck is a required player.

Some of you obviously don't understand Tuck's role - GETTING CONTESTED BALL.
We would get smashed in the centre without Tuck.

I am definitely in support of Collins, Connors & Edwards development, although Edwards couldn't win a contested ball.

Totally agree with this , but at some stage some body and hopefully 2 or 3 have to learn.

I never said delist him. I just think it's time for a change and Tuck is the least effective with his disposal of our midfielders. Foley, Cogs and Jacko get their fair share of clearances anyway. I'd bring in Thomson for a few weeks now. Tuck should be on the list next year but we'd want him to be a depth player in case of injury.

tuck is one of our better players, but the thing is he isnt going to be around if we ever do start challenging for a premiership.

same goes for pettifier and even newman.

newman is one of my favourite players but he too is not going to be around when we finally get this club back on track.

we really need a midfielder with skills, and hopefully we get one in the next draft.
