Decided to not go to the game last Friday night when I found out it was live on tv. Whilst aspects of the game were frustrating I think the most annoying aspect was the coverage by Ch7. When I watch a game of footy I want to see the play. So many times when play was going on they went to replays of free kicks or footage of coaches or players on the side lines. Added to this for some of the centre bounces they had their bird's eye view camera and didn't get to ground level quick enough to see the clearances. I found their coverage to be very sub standard and was wondering if other supporters feeel the same way. Cannot understand how a professional outfit can be so off the mark.

Channel 7 are hopeless, this should be on the main board to everyone can have a crack at them. Replays during live play, stupid camera angles too close or too far, players lining up for goal, then CH7 replay the mark, meanwhile we miss a palm off and a goal?
10 is much better, then theres the foxtel coverage which have no ads during the quarter allowing them to leave the replays for goal beaks etc. Much better, albiet unelastic for mainstream channels re: advetising.

Yeah, I couldn't make the game either but I agree the coverage was terrible. There was one piece of play where Collingwood kicked it inside 50 (think it was Cloke) and instead of following the play they kept the camera on the Collingwood player. I couldn't for the life of me figure out their thought process, horrid telecast.

It happened last week as well from channel 10.

All we saw was Karmichael Hunt having his hamstrings/legs rubbed and McKenna sitting looking depressed in the coaches box. All while the game went on.

They don't seem to realise some of us want to see what strategy we use at a kickout or how our ruckmen go at a centre bounce.

Channel 7 are a disgrace.

Their post-match coverage was even worse. Throwing to that football lightweight Hamish McLachlan to run some magazine style footy show, essentially some terrible primer for the Sunday equivalent was just embarrassing. The lack of actual post-match analysis just bewildering as they prefer to show Roo and Montanga try (very poorly) to rehabilitate their media reputations with some sill candid camera style clip. Instead of talking about football, they're just into the footy celebrity rubbish. They are terrible.

Channel 10 are usually a bit better at this but Saturday night was a shocker for them too. As the commentary panel threw to Christian and Blight to do the wrap, they kept offering scores from the Sydney - WCE match which were 30 minutes old! They pre-recorded this and the farce was complete when they gave a three quarter time update about the time Everitt was kicking the winning goal.

The whole Amateur Doctor hour on the bench drives me crazy.

Guerra went down on Saturday night, Dr Quarters said kidneys, the next dill said ACL, Dr Underwood said it looks really bad, and he's going straight up the race, then follows 27 replays,
all while the game was taking place.

3 minutes later he's back out there, minor corky.

The coverage is always terrible, Channel 7. Apparently zooming in on every congested situation and interviewing a runner instead of seeing the centre bounce and clearance are exactly what the people want. :thumbsu:

I don't care about dynamic camera angles, a mega wall or any of that crap. On the rare occasions that I have to watch the game on TV, funnily enough, I actually want to see what happens.

I went to the game so didn't see the coverage, but Channel 7 are an absolute disgrace.

I watched a video of the 1982 GF a couple of years ago. How is it the coverage was better 30 odd years ago?

That bloody mega wall, everytime it comes up I'm looking for the red button on the remote. :o

What purpose does it serve? Great, I can see the forward and defensive huddles before the match starts as well as empty club rooms. Pretty innovative on Channel 7's part.

Didnt you hear? Its a MEGA wall, duh

Ch7 was terrible on Friday night, one of the worst coverages I've seen

That mega wall is an absolute laughable idea...........what purpose does it serve?? Its not like i can press a button and utilize it. Bruce gets a fast erection everytime it comes up.........."have a look at the mega wall there tom, sensational stuff isn't it"

And the camera shots on the mega wall are as useless as **** on a bloke...

"WoW look at this honey, im looking at mick malthouse walk to the coashes box. cool huh?"

"Check this out darl, Karmicheal hunt is getting an arse massage on the boundary...gross"

Pathetic footy station run by dills who have no idea on how people want the game shown to them.

ps **** i hate Tom Harley:mad:

Their coverage is terrible.

- Continually showing meaningless replays which overlap the return to a ball up
- Horrible lack of chemistry between the commentary team. Dennis hates sitting next to Bruce, and Tom Harley is a yes man
- The ****ing ground level cam!!!! Dreadful!! All you can see are players flashing past the screen, and you're unable to see anything that's unfolding around the ball. Channel 7 trying to be too fancy and innovative with their coverage. KISS.
