Anyone else on it yet? Real time blogging, basically texting to a web site. Seems to be really taking off.

Yeah I've been using it since it was launched. There's something strangely addictive to it, just like Tumblr only Twitter is text only.

Don't see how it's any different to the status updates on Facebook.

I think the only people who don't use twitter are those that don't know how to and don't realise why they should.

I knew I should but I didn't know how.

It doesn't replace Facebook, it supplements it.

Twitter is not a social networking medium per se, it seems more like a broadcast medium. Like if you want to cover a live event, you can cover it via twitter, If you want to tweet about a specific topic over a long period of time, then you can do that too, kind of like a blog.

It doesn't replace facebook at all because as I see it, their objectives are quite different.

can't believe some of u luddites. find a way to make new technology useful and relevant, that's what i'm doing. i had a little fun with facebook apps and games, quickly got tired of it and asked myself how can i get rid of the crap and leave the good stuff. with twitter, i think it has great potential to be an important tool, not just something where you tell your mates "had bacon and eggs for breakfast"

One thing about Twitter I hate is the friend search capability. When you first start off, its ridiculously hard trying to find contacts.

Yeah I signed up a while ago and I have no idea why I did. Haven't been back to it since and am in no hurry to visit again. I'd delete my account if I could be bothered.

After following http://twitter.com/Essendon_FC, I've had to stop following cos they send out way too many updates. An update at the end of every quarter would have sufficed.
