Hearing on the grapevine there a lots of injuries at both Oakleigh and Sandy. Will be interesting to watch Sandy training tomorrow night and see who is missing. Anyone know who the injured players are at Oakleigh ? Word is there are four of five out?I certainly know, Iām not going to miss a triple header of footy!
No. Nothing out of the ordinary. One or 2 out.Hearing on the grapevine there a lots of injuries at both Oakleigh and Sandy. Will be interesting to watch Sandy training tomorrow night and see who is missing. Anyone know who the injured players are at Oakleigh ? Word is there are four of five out?
Good team. Looking forward to watching Eli play and see how far he's come from the Kew U15 GF/Multicultural game last year.
Not sure exactly how theyāll line up Jen, but I expect when Finn relieves Lachie in the ruck, Eli will move to stand alone FF with an open 50 to work in. Dan, Jensen, Gary and JT are all lightning fast crumbers to push in for the loose ball. I also expect Lachie, Jack, Jake and Harper to play 65+% of the game on-ball and give Eli and Finn plenty of one-on-one marking opps. Hugo the other marking option up forward. Ollie and Zane the key backs supported by Matt, Otto, Jobbo and OscarGood team. Looking forward to watching Eli play and see how far he's come from the Kew U15 GF/Multicultural game last year.
Seems like the squad has some depth in multiple positions which is always nice. Pretty talented group, which hopefully translates as they move into the U18's next year. Not sure exactly how theyāll line up Jen, but I expect when Finn relieves Lachie in the ruck, Eli will move to stand alone FF with an open 50 to work in. Thanks.Nope
Good to see

The Northern/Calder game was identical, with Northern storming home to win. What a thrilling finish this morning in the oakleigh game.
Luke De Valle played well.
And yeah... Eli can play![]()
I reckon bottom ager, Josh Thomas did alright. Shame he isn't linked to the pies anyway apparantely. The Northern/Calder game was identical, with Northern storming home to win.
Interested in your best players Jen. Who caught your eye?

Eli, of course (but lets be honest, I'm a bit biased lol). He plays a bit of everywhere. Higher up the ground, then closer to goal, comes up to stoppages. You just never know where he is gonna be. And that near miss on the boundary. That was a goal I don't care what the umpires said lol
I hung around the goals so didn't always see everything that was going on up the ground and tbf, Eli commanded my attention. Kinda hard not to, the way he asserts himself on the field. Very commanding.
I don't know many of the players, but felt the backline did hold up for the most part. Sandy looked like they had it on their terms. But really Oakleigh should have had more goals on the board by half time (or any goals lol) But they fixed up some things for the second half.
I spoke to Ted walking around as the water boy, he was battling a groin issue, but said he'll play in Friday's game
Agree. Riley almost won it single handed in the 3 Rd qtr. Archie continues to impress with his competitive and composure. I thought Otto did a good job containing Browny. Rucks were fairly even IMO, not a great deal of influence on the game. I loved the games of Dan Bullock and Harper Mac for Oakleigh.Stratford, Walker, Bakoulos, Demetriou, Colquhoun for Sandy really caught the eye. Stratford in particular looked very good after missing much of the pre season with injury. Some of his burst from stoppage was electric. Bakoulos is a real player down back and look forward to following him this year. Also liked Joyce up forward (good hands) and Occleshaw on the wing
For Oakleigh; Bullock, Destefanis, McCullough, Kravic, Condello all had good moments. Bond and Tucker while not dominant showed good composure and high skill level down back,
Still trying to work out how Oakleigh won, thought Sandy was dominant all day except on the scoreboard.
