Do then umpires have a script they follow to try and keep games as close as they can? The umpiring tonight- particularly in the last quarter was beyond a joke. How buddy could get a free after putting grimes in a headlock is beyond a joke! Sydney received an abundance of soft frees in the last quarter and yet we were given nothing!

Rioli held by the jumper by that dud Jake Lloyd and play on! Martin dragged to ground by Rampe and play on! Lynch pushed in the back and play on! Yet stack legitimately spoils a swans player and it’s a free kick. It really seems the umpires were looking for every excuse to keep Sydney in the match and make a game of it in the last quarter.

There is no way any of those frees Sydney got would be paid if the game was in the balance in the last quarter of a grand final! So why were they paid tonight? It was disgusting, blatant cheating that last quarter, and this has happened to us on more than one occasion! This corruption needs to stop!

There was clear bias towards them tonight. Nothing paid our way unless it was patently obvious (and only then, sometimes) meanwhile they got all of the soft ones. Didn't decide the game but it certainly cut our percentage back which will be a massive deal this season.

If we were rewarded for our tackles we would have blow Sydney away in the first 2 quarters. AFL is the most corrupt sport next to cycling.

I felt for Lynch tonight every time he went for a lead he was being held by the arm. Shitney got away with it time after time.
You just have to look at Franklin and he get's a free, seriously that prick get's kissed on the dic$ by the umpires constantly, it makes me sick.

Seriously something has to be done, it’s a great game but the umpiring is destroying it. I turn off neutral games because it’s so bad, I’d turn off Richmond games as well but I don’t have the Willpower.............................................yet.

The buddy one and stack spoil were absolute shockers in the final qtr.
In the seond qtr I think Jones took on dusty inside our forward 50, got tackled hard, ball spills out, play on There were several more including another howler after a ripping caddy tackle in the centre - we just cant buy a htb decision - i just dont get how often it happens. This is not bias, this is a real problem.

The Buddy headlock, Stack's spoil resulted in Swans goals. Dusty held by Rampe and Lynch pushed in the back in a marking contest probs cost us 2 goals. In all probably cost us 4 goals. Someone needs to complain to the AFL.

If Sydney's three best players were rested after half time, there would be no umpires for the second half.

For a professional sport with huge dollars and fanbase, you would think the umpiring would be at an acceptable standard, but it is nowhere near it. The last quarter was a case of bringing Sydney back into the contest. That's cheating. Not match fixing, but corruption. I love the highlights video to distract the casual observer, it showed basically all the free kicks we were given - all correct decisions. but nothing on Duddie's headlock on Grimes, Thump in the back of Astbury's head, Hit on Grimes off the ball or Dusties decapitation in the goal square. Funny that..

It is not just our games - it is across the entire AFL, but for some reason, we rarely can say "we had the rub of the green", but for some clubs like Sydney and Colonwood in particular, it is expected.
