Exact same tackle was done by Fisher a minute later in our forward line and NOTHINGUmpires HTB interpretation is completely insane the Casboult HTB seriously are these umpires having a lend of us...
The ump couldnt use the no genuine attempt on Casboult either as he was clearly making an attempt .Exact same tackle was done by Fisher a minute later in our forward line and NOTHING
Rubbish. Think, discuss, get angry and vent at the process. I yell and scream at decisions in every game we play. Just don’t insult the people. There are kids who watch these threads, go to the games, participate on weekend and they learn from what the see, hear and read. A few of them might be good umpires in the future who decide not to help for the fear of being insulted. They volunteer passionately in their early days and should be afforded the opportunity to contribute to the game without being accused of cheating or munching on dead flesh. On this issue we apparently have no right to think
It’s better to be on the controversial receiving side and winning than complaining about decisions after a loss !!
Fox footy just now said afl released statement regarding the umpiring decisions at the end of our game. The deliberate out of bounds was correct, the bump/block was correct, and newnes kicking was incorrect, should of been gibbons.
They also talked briefly about if freo will contest the result. Does anyone know if any team has ever contested a result before and successfully ever got it overturned? Is that even possible?
I'm going to put up a completely random hypothetical which is probably impossible/could never happen, imagine we were in the grand final, 5 points up, 5 seconds left, opposition kicks the ball to a man right on the 50, he misses the ball, flops on purpose, and an umpire pays him a free kick for hands in the back even though our player is about 5 metres behind him. He goes on kicks a goal, they win. In this highly highly unlikely situation, could a team actually contest this result and get it overturned?

Wow thanks for finding that, was a very interesting read! So back in 1900 i think it said, st kilda had lost a game, but was later overturned, resulting in their first ever win and setting precedent. So i guess yes you can get a result overturned if you have evidence. Also according to that topic, the game ends when the umpire signals for it to end, not when the siren goes. Interesting!![]()

I think you're seeing it the wrong way.I'll put a question to you... Was anyone expecting anything else from the AFL?
The umpires are a protected species and the AFL not only regulates against criticism of them, but is constantly disingenuous when it comes to their performance. Just sweep it under the carpet and pretend there isn't a gigantic problem with the offiiciating of the game is the MO always.

This one was in 2006, between Freo and the Saints, and the AFL overturned the result on review.Wow thanks for finding that, was a very interesting read! Yeah but we dominated. Bit different to a back and forth match or a tight tussle.Didn’t notice them much tonight. Amazing how when you are controlling the game to a large extent, the odd umpiring error doesn’t hurt. [emoji3]
