The umpiring was a joke and I believe it had a bearing on the outcome of the game. Being the comeback kings, I know the Eagles would be in the game to the very end but I hate to have to acknowledge that the umpires could've won them this game.

RE the bounce: How many of you can get the ball up perfectly straight every time? Let alone when the pressure is on in a prelim. Wait....how many of you have actually attempted a bounce(Other than while half pi$$ed at a barbie)?

I don't agree with the decision mentioned by jo172. I can see why he paid it, but don't think the infringement was there.

Don't have a problem about the 50m paid against Bock, he was well over the mark.

It's all very well and good to blame the umps for the loss, but fk oath, it was certainly the Crows who snatched defeat from the jaws of victory today.

i was gonna say, bad luck and well fought by Adelaide, but nah get *******ed with your attitude you were beaten by a better side, and dont deserve to be in the GF.... bad sport...

Steady on - most Crows supporters are very gracious win or lose.
We have a few 'special' supporters on BF too.

You're right, but a) it's his job to bounce it properly and b) be a man and call it back FFS. He could of just bounced the ball again but he decided what was left of his dignity was more important then the game. Completely inexcusable IMO.

Maybe but the same thing happened 50 other times today and the player on the mark got warned come back mate, or "another two meters there Tyson". A case of an umpire being way too whistle happy there.

Not blaming the umpires for the loss, West Coast deserved to win, just saying that not only were alot of the decisions by the umpires today wrong, they were also gutless.

Well I guess I must be one of those "special" supporters then. Because, although normally gracious in defeat and acknowledge superior play, I REFUSE to deny the fact that the decisions made and NOT made today had a major impact on this game.

Yeah, agree completely. It's also Bassett's job to be accountable for his man, Perrie to take marks and kick goals etc, but they also decided that what was left of their dignity was more important than the teams good. Why didn't they take themselves off?

I don't doubt that there were other instances where a 50m could have been paid, but the players were given a chance. On viewing the replay, it think Bock had plenty time to come back. Don't players know by now how to stand the mark anyway?

That comment wasn't directed at you :) West Coast won, good on 'em for doing so. Umps may have got a few decisions wrong, but so did every other person on the field.

your a ********

anyhow - what about the numerous holding the ball decisions which were missed
I could 4 one handed handballs

what about bocks tackle 5 metres out straight in front - it was holding the ball down the other end twice

we got beaten by a better team on the day but **** me they got some help we could only dream of

Im just not in the mood to read the **** posted so far!!!!!!! Thatw as a ****en **** effort in the last half and also 2 decisions that really did cost us were that ****ed up call of a 50mtr penalty, that is what changed the momentum and the whole game I feel, sooooooooooooo pissed off, I said it as it happened, also that last ****EN KICK, NO WAY......anything could have happened from goody's kick, no free for that traitor ****en ****** Steinglein, UNBELEIVABLE!!!!!! I Bloody hate WA and I have to live here, daont want them to win back to back but I hope to hell SYDNEY win by 10 goals or more!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

The umpiring was a shocker today, but not just against you guys. How about the goal that was disallowed that was clearly over the line. You guys performed well today, the injury was very unlucky, but Johncock was brilliant running out of defence. Best of luck for next year. Hey PrideOf.

Completely different situation and you know it. Players have 22 opponents trying to force them to make as many mistakes as possible and if and when Perrie drops a mark he doesn't have the choice to say no give the ball back and give him another chance. If you **** up a bounce you can recall it and it will be forgotten about after 2 minutes, if you keep going people are going to be arguing about it at 9 o'clock that night.

Even if Bock did break the letter of the law then why didn't they pay it every other time. It's inconsistant and unfair on the players and spectators. Every time that has happened this year the umpire has given the player a warning to move back on the mark except for this time.

I agree with you, umpires are always going to get things wrong because they are human which is why there's always gonna be a few dodgy frees to whine about after the game. Just incidents like the center bounce which was fixable but ignored is the kind of thing that ****s me off.

:D :D I feel better now after a good laugh at that. No one likes a sore loser. I'm sure the WAFL are looking for umpires, and seeing as you can do such an excellent job, I expect to see you doing finals next year ;)

One poor decision to WC... but only AFTER they'd changed the momentum in your favour anyway. I'll bet that goal umpire wont be working next week.

Thanks for the kind (even if patronising) words. Id like to wish you luck next week but I think you had more than your fair share today.;)

AS with all games umpires make mistakes.

West Coast got around the neck tackles that were not paid, that goal in the last quarter signalled a point(although that was a goal umpire decision and we are on about the field umpires) and all teams get that.

But simply we got murdered,no other way of describing it.

Todays game was quite unbelivable the way it ebbed and flowed and West Coasts senior players played the game of there life,I was in awe of there midfield but this game was ruined as we will never know how West Coast would of responded had Adelaide recieved the Free kicks that were blatant, many in front of goal.
West Coast Responded to everything else we threw at them but we will never know on this one.

Thats all well and good, but when there are 50,000 people calling for you to be hung, there's alot of pressure on too. Yes, the bounce should have been recalled, but people are too quick to criticize the umps alot of the time. Yeah, he messed up, but there were countless clangers from both sides aswell.

Consistency has been a problem since the 2 umipre system came in, refer to previous posts I've made about inconsistency

What because I quoted 2 yes only 2 but a major 2 decisions from the game!! F(&K Off twat, I can say what I feel, enjoy the laugh, the team was rorted in the third quarter and they were not good enough to come back from it! The team wasn't good enough and they don't get nay sympathies from me, it was a home game and they wre up by 22 pts at half time, you don't lose them, FOR F&^K SAKE!!!!!!

But **** me the umpiring was a joke. First that horrible center bounce which resulted in a Wea-girl goal, the 50m penalty against Bock which resulted in a Eagles goal and that stupid free to Stenglein in the last 20 seconds which resulted in a Coasters goal and soon their margin is down to a chilly -2 points:mad:

Who here can bounce a ball better than umpire Darren Goldspink?

You're kidding me aren't you. From where I was sitting, Adelaide certainly had the better run from the umpires.

I love the Crows, and hate anything that wears black and white. But that doesn't mean that I am gunna blame anyone else for our loss!

The Adelaide Crows lost the game today.

West Coast won.

The bounce went askew.

Bock had 50m paid against him.

The world keeps spinning

Would of been ****ing exciting if Goodwin had a chance to get rid of it, Burton takes the huge pack mark and kicks it out on the full after the siren. Well that was the premonition i was having anyway:o
