4 points down 15 seconds to go. All we had to do was not have that free kick paid against Edwards, and Goodwing had a good shot a putting the ball on one of our forwards chest. The game could have been one by the kick, no problems, so one simple reversal could have meant an Adelaide win, and thus you are wrong. The umpires were bad, but I don't hold them responsible, they were a contributing factor, but it was Adelaide who let West Coast through the door after half time.

It's cute that you assume that his kick would result in a goal, just like his other 16 kicks had.

But you're completely disregarding the fact there was a blatant error made by the goal umpire. You should not have been four points down, more likely 9 or maybe more, who knows?

You can't have it both ways - you can't choose to only count the "incorrect" decisions or non-paid "potential" free kicks to your team without looking at the other side of the ledger.

My argument will remain to be this:

Had the umpires paid the frees to Adelaide that were there (at least 4 in the first half) that would have resulted in goals, we would have been further up, the momentum would have been still with us and WC may not have even got a look in with that missed goal. WC kicked at least 2 goals from dubious frees, Adelaide missed getting 4 chances at goal with frees that were not paid.

Momentum is everything.

Apart from the Burton over the shoulder (since complaining about Stenglein free then this shouldn't be there either) and the holding the ball non decision I can't see any others? The Graham holding the ball was not there and Lynch robbed a goal so there you go.

I will confirm this but.
Adelaide had 4 frees not paid in front of goal.

West Coast got two goals they shouldnt of.

And Lynch got ripped off.

Not really balanced is it.

I guarantee you would have seen the frees in the forward 50 not paid to us and soft ones in front of goal paid to you IF you werent a west coast supporter.

The only way to look at this properly is to take the emotion out of it. Unfortunately, neither we nor the West Coast supporters can do that. Same with Freo or Port Power supporters.

So who do we turn to to answer this question? The supporters of the other clubs. And on the main board they have, overwhelmingly, thought we were r*ped by the men in green.

Case closed.

I will admit that the umpiring was of a very poor standard and that Goldstink suffers from attention defecit disorder so he needs to pull free kicks out of his backside to make himself noticable.

However, the day we blame the umpires for a loss is the day we need to give up football. Had we performed as well as we possibly could umpiring wouldn't be an issue. Sometimes people are looking for scapegoats after such a heartbreaking loss. Some blame players others blame umpires.

We were just beaten by a better side. Nothing more, nothing less. Sure they were some frees that were missed and some were called when they shouldn't have been and yes the umpires failed the course Ball Bounce 101 but that doesn't change the fact that we simply weren't good enough in the end.

What a big surprise. Crows lose and suddenly all the talk shifts to the umpiring. What about the goals Adelaide "received" from free kicks in the first half?
You lost to a better side, get on with it, move on.

But **** me the umpiring was a joke. First that horrible center bounce which resulted in a Wea-girl goal, the 50m penalty against Bock which resulted in a Eagles goal and that stupid free to Stenglein in the last 20 seconds which resulted in a Coasters goal and soon their margin is down to a chilly -2 points:mad:

Who here can bounce a ball better than umpire Darren Goldspink?

How about the goal Bode scored in the second quarter after a throw?

Umpire Ellis was a disgrace.

3. the free kick for holding the ball against Edwards in the third quarter was incorrect. He was not tackled but had the ball hit out of his hands. Result-goal to West Coast

Get your facts right - Hunter's shot at goal hit the post. It should have been Hansen who took the free kick, which was an easy decision.

I'm not sure on others opinions, but there appeared to be a couple of times our players went for the speccie and didn't touch the ball. They did impede the WCE player but no free was paid.

Correct - second quarter Johncock did not attempt to mark or spoil and impeded Hansen's attempt. Inside our attacking 50.

Geez get over it already:mad: if you had won this thread wouldn't exist!

Eagles fans have more reason to complain than Adelaide fans.....how many goals were a result of free kicks!!! I rest my case.

Oi!! Go find your own fishing spot, this one is taken. :)

okay im as disappointed as anyone else here but...

1. the Edwards decision as wrong as it was didnt result in a goal, Hunter hit the post from the resultion free kick about the only time the b@stard missed all day.

2. With the bounce, at AFL level no matter how bad the bounce is you can not recall it, doesnt matter if it only goes 1m off the ground, i know it went straight to cousins and they got a goal but who ever the crows player was with him didnt put enough pressure on him.

3. The 50m against Bock was there and too who ever said no warning was given to him, it was, happened right infront of where we were sitting and i could hear Goldspink yelling at Bock to come back and Bocky didnt move BUT what hurts is goldspink then not penalising Braun for kciking it when he was clearly telling him to bring it back is not good enough.

4. With the holding the ball against Selwood in the back pocket in the last, yes it was holding the ball, but then by what they were playing all day so was Johncock about 2 minutes later at the other end of the ground and no decision was played.

you could sit here and argue all day about a many of the decisions made in the game, in the end though it was our own 3rd quarter that cost and the fact that at the start of the last quarter at one stage the possesion count was 20-3, just not good enough when the game was there to be one.

And another thing has Scott Stevens ever heard of a body spoil, where you jump into the man and punch the ball rather than just trying to punch from behind...
