Undertaker?

Seems to just be working 3-4 nights a year, building to his one match a year at Wrestlemania. While I'm not completely against it, I'm not really all for it either. His match against Triple H this year was amazing, last year, not so much and his presence on the WM card really sells it but apart from that its a pretty selfish and individualistic move. Only established, AE era wrestlers are deemed worthy enough to face him and threaten the streak and as such, he's really doing nothing to help put the younger stars over.

He should've put Orton over when he had the Legend Killer gimmick. Undertaker putting Orton over would have solidified Orton as a bona fide star (note: not a huge Orton fan, but the time was right). Now, the streak has really grown beyond a point where the person who ends the streak will suffer extreme backlash from the audience.

So tl;dr: the streak is only helping WWE for one night and is doing nothing for the company outside of that. Happy to see Undertaker do this 2-3 more times and then give up.

Taker only wrestles 2/3 times a year has almost made him even bigger then what he once was almost like The Rock returning the Undertaker has that simular feel to it

Wrestlemania would almost not feel the same without the Undertaker

I starting watching about a year before the Invasion and back then i almost had Taker on par with people like Benoit,Kane,Show,Jericho

Do people agree he has almost become the biggest superstar ever when he was behind a fair few when SCSA,Rock,Triple H,Angle ect were around?

Ive said it before, hes my all time favorite wrestler, and hate to seem him go, but man I hope WM just past was his last. Go out with a great match instead of a brock/goldberg type leave.

As far as the backstage crew are concerned hes effectively 'retired' they just get him to work a few nights a year now, mainly for the streak.

Probably my favourite wrestler but I really hope he retires this year BEFORE WM, cause you know theyll make him 20-1, theres no up and coming talent worthy of knocking off the streak IMO.

No. Definitely not.

'Taker was never and has never been the guy. Stone Cold, Hogan and The Rock are on another level to every other wrestler.

I don't see how it is. He's done alot for the company and is still helping them by showing up for the biggest PPV of the year. He's 47 years old and has been around for over 20 years so you can't expect him to have much else in the tank.

And he's actually helping out the younger talent by not being there cause he doesn't take up their TV time.

The Undertaker is my favourite of all-time but i hope WM28 was his last, a great send off.

certainly we have not seen the last of him... if he was to have one last match in his career, it would be promoted as such with a cool exit of some kind

WM28 match ending is not how most people want to see Taker for the last time, being helped backstage by HHH and HBK, his opponents for the last 4 WMs

I think you will find it was HBK and Taker helping HHH to get to the back.

I am pretty sure that we will have seen the last of Undertaker at WM and he will come back at a different PPV, lose and then never be seen again. That's just my feeling.

20-0 is a good way to end it.

20 and 0. Should never end the stream. IMO Kane is the only person that should send taker off in his last match. Casket/buried alive match anyone at survivor series anyone?

Undertaker is/was a better in-ring worker than all three of those guys. He just didn't pull as much money or have the same charisma on the mike and yet he has one of the greatest gimmicks of all time.

As cool as his gimmick was, it limits how far Taker could have gone with his promos/mic skills. Dark themed gimmicks aren't used when needing to throw out jokes to appese the crowd, for example. Taker stuck to character (or whatever version of it).

Current creative plans call for The Undertaker to face Brock Lesnar at WrestleMania XXIX.

My source didnt provide a source, but its been thrown around for a while now..

I want Cena vs. Undertaker.

Cena's really the only guy at this point who could be built as being credible enough to beat the streak.

I'D prefer Taker pull the pin.
I'm in the minority - and possibly even solo on this - but I couldn't give a stuff about the streak being extended and was over it after about 15-0 and realised the streak would never be broken.
Granted the match this year exceeded expectations - it was a cracker to be honest - I just don't get as excited about Taker anymore given he appears once or twice a year and I've seen the routine so often.
I get more excited about CM Punk and Bryan, Jericho and Sheamus.
The WWE needs to move on and evolve.

I posted above that I'm not thrilled about it, but he does keep putting on match of the night every year at Wrestlemania so... I dunno.

I'd be more prepared to let it run if he was working more than one night a year. If he worked Summerslam and showed up at the Rumble, then yeah go for it. But as it is, I only want one or two more then retire.
