Whilst I am sure you don't want to hear it right now - f*ck that was unlucky.

I talked you boys up all week to my mates, and was laughed off - and even whacked a pineapple down @ $3.50 earlier this week.

Tough luck, and good luck next year.
 
Comiserations Cats fans. Thought you deserved to win the game - the discipline you showed was first class. Can't help but think the injuries during the game left you without the legs needed to run out the game.
 
yeh tough luck u guys. id been hoping u guys would have taken it out when we didnt make the eight. theres always next year, u guys will still be up there so the very best of luck!!!

Wasn't aware of those injuries til now (didn't get the game on TV) but I suppose that just about sums our season up.
 
Bad luck Catters. Came up with a great game plan and probably should have won it. Perhaps you guys tried to shut up shop 5 minutes too early, although as Mike_B has pointed out, you had injury worries. Commiserations again.
 
Steve Johnson should be blasted for letting that loose ball run inside Sydney's forward 50m. It resulted in the ball-up which led to the goal. Should've grabbed it Steve.
 
Geelong, you were solid tonight, you had our measure for most of the game. I was sitting just behind Ablett when he almost kicked one of the best goals I have ever seen. Through the sticks but he was called out. Bad luck, we may have won but you guys almost executed a perfect game plan.

Bad luck Geelong fans. I was at the game tonight and i have to say, whilst your team was most unlucky, your fans i talked to after the game were very gracious in defeat. Geelong played very well and probably deserved to beat us based on general play. St Kilda will probably beat us anyway. :(
 
For 3 qrts the Cats owned us. They were the better team. They're dedication and hardness put our usual style to shame for much of the game. Know this means nothing to you Catters, but tough luck, you've got my respect.
 
Ditto to everything above. I know it is scant consolation but your team won the utmost respect from a lot of Swans fans tonight.

that was unbelievable
 
while i was barracking for sydney, it was terrible seeing Cam Mooney limp off crying, etc. Unlucky Geelong supporters it was a ripping game, terrible way to lose. I'd rather not make the finals than see my team get toppled like that. Really unlucky.
Nick Davis was just awesome.
 
Bad luck guys that was desperately unlucky. You were the better team for 3.5 quarters out there. I think they might have played a bit too defensively in the last 10 minutes thinking they had it in the bag.
 
On behalf of the Geelong supporters, id like to thank all you guys and girls for those posts. Its good to know there are nice people out there.

feeling quiet depressed myself still, it was heartbreaking to watch moons crying and a few of the other boys...but the only bad thing to come out of it was that we lost, we played a great game and the boys should b proud of what they did last night, not the end that sando would have been hoping for...but im not going to complain, coz they tried their hardest, just the looks on their faces at the end of the match said it all really...weve been that close the past 2 years, i just hope we can keep the good play up in the future..
 
STOP RIGHT NOW. There was not one ounce of bad luck that result. When you play game style that results in a soccer type score line you can lose a game like we did.Notice I said we lost it. Lost It, Lost It, Lost It. Yes we played hard and were commited and had some injuries but enough of these "reasons" or exscuse because we lost it when we had it wrapped up.

Im just so sick of being done games like this.The 89 GF , the best of time they say.Crap I say. Already I head some on radio say this was one of the best finals of all time.Without no doubt this burning fester of a result will keeping getting replayed and replayed , every time they want to show a "fantastic" final. I am just so p-iss-ed off. Thanks for the sentiment but everyone can just stick bad luck right where the sun dont shine.

Mate i know EXACTLY how you feel, but i'd much rather them atleast supporting our effort than bagging the cr@p out of us..... wouldnt you?

It makes me sick to hear this sycophantic post game , plenty to look forward type rubbish. I heard the same tripe the day after the 89 GF and Im just jack of it. No more medocrity can be accepted, Id rather lose by heaps with player that have some future than play guys like KK that is a good GFL player. Maybe Im not in the correct emotional state for posting at the moment but it because ive been down this path so often with Geelong it makes on wonder if we will ever get it right. I just feel gutted.
