I understand this thinking, however, after winning **** all for years, beggars can't be choosers. He really needs silverware Arteta or he is gonski. The squad is big enough, injured players are coming back.
Reaction after "Careless cup" suggests you're wrong.players were rapt. Club has won **** all in years. Beggars can't be choosers.Nah, **** the Careless Cup. I'd rather Arsenal field the Under 21's team and first team players needing fitness than bother trying to win it. If there weren't 700 games a season then maybe, but burning players out for something that nobody, even the players, care about is stupid. Especially with our injury history.
Vs Brighton
The Good:
Odegaard was really really good. His ability to hold and turn out of defence, find space as an outlet from the back is exceptional. Everything good last night started at his feet. Great goal as a reward too.
Rice slotting in at RB. What other teams are having to play their 100m star midfielder as a makeshift defender? Didn't look out of place and one gut busting run almost resulted in a tap-in for Saka.
Brighton's defence. They defended exceptionally well and would be unhappy not coming away with a point.
The Bad:
Still struggling to click going forward and finishing off chances. Another O.G. giving us the win. I know I'm giving my age away here, but when Charlie Nicholas scored twice to beat Liverpool in the '87 careless cup, I c didn't sleep for 3/4 days.
Gyok turned his man brilliantly early in the first half giving him a decent 1v1 with the Brighton Keeper. He then made a point choice to meekly stab at the ball sending it straight into the keeper; He should have smashed it OR tried to lob him.
Saka still cooking his chances. Got in behind the Brighton defence late in the second but Dunk was able to get and make a great tackle. Last years Saka would have made it 3-1.
The Ugly:
20 minute periods in games allowing the other team to dominate us. Brighton scored then were looking more likely to score an equalizer than Arsenal were scoring a 3rd.
Next up is a massive massive home game against Villa. They just beat Chelsea 1-2 away and will come to Arsenal knowing they can get 3 points. If we beat Villa that will give us 7 wins 1 draw and 1 loss for December (all comps), despite not playing anywhere near our best.
1987, careless cup, Charlie Nicholas scores two v ing Liverpool of all teams, after Rocky sends us through in the semi v the filth....."careless cup" .... me sideways.
Come on shoei, you're better than that.
Probably because he can't get to the right spots and when he does no one wants to pass to a guy with such an awful first touch who will just fall over and lose possession anyway. This guy's not even an upgrade on NketiahFrom what I've seen Gyokeres has an absolutely lethal strike. Why isn't he using it more? He seems really lacking confidence, that tame shot at the start of the Everton game an example. If he smashes a few in hopefully he can get on a bit of a run.
Whoever gets through the warmup uninjuredIf Calafiori doesn't get up for tomorrow, who you playing? MLS or Hincapie?
