The irony here being your actual King is a leftist
I think most of the talk of left versus right is nonsense when it comes to the current governance of the west, certainly economically speaking.

No Government in the West could be described as left wing as their intervention almost always favours the big money donors and is not redistributing to the needy, apart from some crumbs.

They also aren’t right wing as they are highly interventionist and increasingly supportive of a growing and more intrusive Government.

That’s where the focus on identity politics has been genius. Get people to hate each other based on race, sex, sexual preference etc. Meanwhile the gap between rich and poor continues to accelerate and the bare essentials like accommodation and food become increasingly hard to afford.

now you can add politics democrat / republican, right win/left wing.

senators and politicans need to act in the best interest of their constituents, not the lobbyists.

There is an illusion you have a choice and the choice will make a difference.

Doubt it.

Donnie taking "flood the zone" as more of a mission statement than a strategy in his 2nd term. Haven't heard much about that Obama treason thing lately lol
Random Trump going after Dems via Truth Social.
Shifted from Obama treason to get him through Soros and RICO.
Rudy might get a gig.
"Nobody knows more about RICO laws than
Rudy Giuliani"

Man, thank god the National Guard has been deployed to DC, they're doing some great and required work.

The activated guardsman no doubt ecstatic they've left families and put their life on hold for these very essential duties.

The only explanation I've been able to cobble together to explain this thread's existence is rooted in the idea of democracy.

Western nations have largely embraced democracy as the "least worst system" (Churchill, I think) and most (all?) of the posters ITT have been raised within it's sanctum.

However, it is true to say that there is a cultural element to the embrace of democratic principles - not EVERYBODY can automatically see and appreciate the vast array of mechanisms for change, improvement, advancement and development that democracy brings (as an aside, when considering this, do so in the mindset of large administrative government departments, as that provides some evidence and insight). Perhaps one can say simply that in the mind of someone raised in an autocracy and who flourishes and feels satisfied, if it ain't broke, why fix it? There are other perspectives on this too.

What I don't understand though is if you have seemingly embraced the notion of democracy by choosing to continue to participate in the Australian lifestyle, why you would willingly stoke the fires and cheer the armies/agents who are tearing it down.

Because the outcome for that position, by adopting that as your MO, is you can only provide the template for a 'no discussion, no negotiations, no quid pro quo' solution - it is burn it down, or death.

Which makes me wonder again at our ability as a species to evolve.

It's not a new phenomenon.

"The March of Folly" by Tuchman sets it out quite well. Humans have a long history of self-sabotage.

Hey, they're using weapons too. Albeit whipper snippers
