Does it not have something to do with the Commonwealth Games?

no cos the commonwealth games effects only the mcg and that would advantage collingwood it needs to be played somewhere like launceston or cararra or mararra

Win lose or draw both Saints and Pies were headed for WA this week. Fremantle has decided to go hard at winning the NAB cup. Our trophy cabinet is currently an echo chamber and we need to get some positives going into the main season.

Using another teams desire to win at home should be an interesting excersise for your coaching staff to see how some of your young guys handle a team which will probably be nearly full strength playing to win.

If the Pies make a real contest out the game then rest of the football clubs will then get a chance to look at our statagies and game plans for '06.

The bookies have Freo 2nd favourite to win the Cup with the Pies last. All the interest will be to see how far you can push us. The process becomes more important than the outcome.

I honestly can't see why a victorian team can be annoyed with having to travel interstate, Freo and West Coast have to travel across the country every 2nd week! How often does Collingwood have to do that?

I'm not complaining, but the only thing I am concerned about:
Last Time played in Perth (Premiership Season): v Frem - Lost 100 pts +
Last Time played in Perth (Wizard/NAB Cup): v WCE - Lost 100 pts +

Only Melbourne team not to be on Free to Air that is still in the comp.

Speaking of which, do you guys know if the Pies/Freo game is on FTA this weekend?

I'm trying to plan my family's activities, and it will all revolve around whether we (I'm hitched to 3th generation Pie, with 4th generation junior Magpie coming along nicely) are watching TV for this game. Anyone know the schedule? AFL.com still has last week's times posted, very helpful.

I got nothing wrong with it, and I like it when we play interstate, despite results.

The AFL makes the choices, and we just seem to be the love-child of the league...I guess I can't complain about that. Other sides who play interstate home games in 2006 (Hawks, Saints, Dogs, Dees, Roos) do it for revenue towards the club, or attempt to, comes at a cost of promoting their side aswell as the game.
