I have seen quite a few of the teams going around in A Section this year and I am interested in early tips for the competition B&F.

Xavs - Chatfield
OH - Corrigan/Jenke
Uni Blues - Paterson
Marcellin - Dobson/Rice
OS - McKenzie-McHarg
St Bernards - Madden

Any thoughts?

Good selections Petrov,

Chatfield (Xavs) is very polished and is having a great year but may have too many other good players to take votes from him.

McKenzie-McHarg (Scotch) is the ruckman that everyone is talking about but I don't think that he has done enough to warrant a B&F.

Corrigan (Bloods) is the best player I have seen in A section but does he suffer from the Nathan Buckley syndrome where 30 touches is an ordinary game for him? He also has plenty of good players around him polling votes.

Madden (Bernies) has been very good as a youngster, he always seems to be up there in the best players and does not have much competition for votes but have they won enough games?

My tip is the leading goalkicker James Gerstman (Scotch). Big bags win games and should mean votes. He would already have a few locked away and I think he will kick a few more bags before the season is over.

Gerstman - great player - won't finish top ten and maybe not top 20.
Brett Dobson - the chunky one is having a career year and is the most consistent player in the competition.

Madden will win the Woodrow. A fine player, tall, AFL breeding, umpires just wanna love him and their twisted minds will lead them away from more qualified candidates.

The game I saw he spent the majority of the game on the pine.... Couldn't get near it.

Woodrow Medallist is invariably an on-baller from a top 4 side, so:

Haileybury: Corrigan/Trollope
Marcellin: Dobson/Rice
Xavs: Chatfield/Beardsley/Ockleshaw (probably take votes off each other)
Blues: Paterson/Ryan

Smokies: Gill (St Bernards) and Hume (Old Scotch)

From what I've heard (admittedly haven't seen any OT games, but he's always in the Best) David Beardsley would have to be a chance of winning Old Trinity's B&F.
