With shortened number of games and possibility of changed finals system 1 v 4 and 2 v 3, what is the chance of promotion and relegation for 1 team only per section?

I see Country teams are reluctant to play this week without crowds due to costs incurred and no income.
Shouldn't be an issue with the Ammos. Hoping we go ahead this week, probably without an after match beer.

Country has been upped to 1000 people allowed in the venue including crowds

A disgrace.

Yep, it’ll be interesting to see what leagues like EFL do.

The absolute rubbish Sutton was sprouting about super spreading events though, still pretty sure there is zero evidence of spread at sporting events. This outbreak had multiple venues from local to AFL as exposure sites yet they’ve never said anyone tested positive after being exposed there!!!

Better than not playing at all

Wrong. Games are going ahead this Saturday 19/6

Welcome back everyone!

Should be a boost in umpire recruitment this weekend.

Want to watch the game? Run the Boundary or wave the flags. Thoughts TheArmy?

Sutton was talking about the Snow as a super spreader venue , not local footy .

How can they stop anyone from going to a local park. What is ridiculous rule.

Nothing wrong with a few blokes "taking the dog for a walk" down by the local footy oval at approx 2pm on Saturday, is there?

VAFA footy is back!

I suspect there will be plenty of dog walkers this weekend between 2 and 4:30 on Saturday afternoon at venues that are accommodating. I cannot see too many people though making their way to the pit to watch the Lions take on the Snowdogs.

Fair to say that's more of a "recommendation" that no spectators visit. They know full well people will go to watch if they wish.

Presumably reserves would have to play thier match, shower, and leave straight away? (in theory anyway) I imagine quite a few rezzies players will want to watch their own team play afterwards.... same goes for seniors arriving to the ground early to watch rezzies

Serious question Max Leader and workhorse - was the server being slow and you hit "post reply" a couple of times, or did it duplicate your posts all by itself?

Edit: Belay that, it's an add-on that was installed earlier and caused conniptions. Carry on.

He was also talking about super spreader events at AFL level as well when he said he doesn’t know when crowds will return.

But the only reason to ban crowds is not because of any real risk, but it’s because it puts too much pressure on contact tracers with thousands of close contacts. All our restrictions and lockdowns are really just to make life easier for contact tracing teams.

It gets down to people doing the right thing doesn't it Maxie? Just as mask-wearing, using QR et al does too. There will always be people who have agendas, the 'no one tells me what to do' nuffies, even those who don't believe Covid is real who will buck the system. Let's hope the half-wits, selfish and inconsiderate don't stuff it up for the overwhelming majority who do the right thing. It's great to have community footy back.:thumbsu:

I don't want to cause any grief for the poor club volunteers who have to try and enforce this nonsense so will do the right thing and stay away. For those wanting a fix of local footy, I understand (and happy to be corrected) that country leagues can have crowds up to 1000. Assume this refers to the clubs/leagues in LGA’s outside the boundary that has been used since this bloody thing kicked off.

Have some old links to the Goulbourn Valley league so might take a trip up the Hume.

Just go and watch away from main areas . The F ing Dog walkers will go wherever they want .
My bigger issue is the fixture and i've banged on about this for years .
You play rounds 1-9 and then reverse it . We lose 2 home games , as others will . Just play the byes ffs

I notice that 1000 people can attend out door events .. but Football can't have crowds.. Surly clubs just play music over their PA systems and call it a concert.
