I hope you don't mind the intrusion.

I just came on here to express my condolences to The Hawthorn Faithful and The Kennedy Family.

I am an long time football tragic and when one of football royal families has a family member that passes its a sad day for the larger football community.

Dulcie Kennedy the Matriarch of one of VFL / AFL football family dynasties, she has left a history for all football lovers to be appreciative of.

Wife, mother and grandmother of footballs fabric , those who love and play the game.

Also nice to see a family that is so modest , humble and just so down to earth, sadly virtues that are less valued today than they were in past years and eras.

RIP Dulcie.

Deepest & sincerest condolences to all the Kennedy family.
As mentioned previously the adage "behind every great man is a great woman" never rang truer in this instance.
A loved wife, mother & Nonna we as the Hawthorn F.C. will forever be indebted.

Classy effort mate. It's always good to be reminded that on field rivalries are just that. Best of luck this year

So very sad to hear the news. The Kennedy family across 3 generations has had a major influence, in both performance and spirit, on the VFL/AFL and there has been a constant throughout all of this, Dulcie Kennedy. They say that behind every man is a good woman, she stayed out of the limelight but her influence shone through. I send my sincere condolences to the entire Kennedy clan.

a massive shame our club wasn't able to give a bit more of a yelp on field to respect her memory. An insipid effort at best.

Don't want to get too vitriolic in a tribute thread. I will just respectfully and wholly agree with you that it was incredibly disappointing that they couldn't get up considering that strapping on the black armbands today should have resonated with them a bit.

Some of the players and staff would have been impacted by this and it may have contributed somewhat to what appeared to be a lack of preparation and urgency today
the result on the field doesn't reflect on Dulcie Kennedy or how the club feels about her or the impact of her loss
